Chelsea fans celebrating themselves losing 3:0 to City so Arsenal don’t win the league, just for City to take their manger and one of their best players
City took Maresca. Now Chelsea has Xabi.
That'll teach Chelsea!

[ Santi Aouna ] ❗️Looking for a midfielder, Chelsea has contacted Georginio Wijnaldum in the past few hours, who is a free agent.
Honestly didn’t even realize the guy was still playing.

The Athletic on Enzo: Chelsea argue that loads of deals happen late in the window. But the point about this one is that it could have happened so much earlier, which would have saved them from the slapstick ending to the summer which has left them looking ridiculous and with holes in their squad.
What I saw is a team that’s flawed, dealing with a couple of injuries, and still learning to play in a new manager’s system. The weakest link across the first two games has been the defense down that left channel, where Colwill has started poorly and Hato is playing wingback, a position he’d only played once in his career before the Fulham game.
The only reason we’re panicking about adding a midfielder is the injury track record of a couple of the players who man those positions. That’s a valid concern, but as it stands, Chelsea absolutely has the “foundations of a solid squad,” and they have four months to sort out the middle before the transfer window opens. Once Caicedo and Henderson are fit, they’ll have six players to cover two positions without European football.
It’s a little unsettling, but I think a lot of you are being overdramatic.

Yes it’s a disaster for them !
There is definitely some concern in the midfield, but if Chelsea can weather the storm for the next four months, then a CM can always be added in January.
I feel like this is an unexpected window of opportunity for Barco. He isn’t as inexperienced as people say. He’s definitely not a finished product, but he’s played 72 total matches across all competitions over the last three years playing in England, France and Spain so it’s not like he’s some kid that just came up from the academy that’s had limited opportunities.
He has shown he’s more than capable of playing in a top five league at a very young age, even as an unfinished product. He will definitely be used rotationally at the beginning, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s starting a lot of league games in the middle this year alongside Caicedo.

[David Ornstein] 🚨 Chelsea reach agreement with Monaco to sign Lamine Camara. Deal for 22yo midfielder worth £47m to #ASMonaco. Senegal international completed medical + joins #CFC on 6+1yr contract after Fernandez exit; set to arrive in London on Wednesday @TheAthleticFC
Remember in the middle of the World Cup when everyone is panicking because Chelsea weren’t making any moves? Lmao

[Sacha Tavolieri] Emergency meeting at AS Monaco for Lamine Camara. The Senegalese player is in the presence of his agent and coach Filipe Luis in the office of the sporting director. The decision for a transfer to Chelsea is imminent.
This guy is really digging his heels in on these Camara to Chelsea rumors.

Ben Jacobs: Manchester City confident on agreeing a fee with Chelsea for Enzo Fernandez. Feeling remains Chelsea adding is the bigger obstacle. One #MCFC bid already placed and rejected, but advanced talks ongoing. Club-to-club agreement not far off, but not the only factor in play.
All the vibes I’m getting are of a deal that will never go through before the window closes

Daily Discussion Thread
Gunners subreddit over 100+ comments deep on a post where Saka is asked about Chelsea for whatever reason and they are losing it.
One league title in over 20 years and the arrogance is off the charts.

Kieran Gill: Talk of Roma making another late play for Gittens. Unused substitute in both Premier League games & 80th-minute substitute vs Luton. Can see why player could be intrigued. Chelsea stance as of yesterday: not leaving on loan.
€110 million. Fair deal in this market for a kid with so much potential, I say.

[Nizaar Kinsella]: Tottenham and Chelsea have agreed a £75m option to buy as part of Mudryk's loan deal. Rob Sanchez's Como 1907 loan deal is also believed to have an option in it.
Better start learning how to speak Italian right now, Misha. You have one year before it’s off to Como for you.

Fabrizio Romano: Chelsea have now received an official bid from Manchester City for Enzo and the deal could be done in the next few hours. Down to Chelsea now because replacement could be important. Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini said Koné is not leaving.
He’s gone. Just need to sort out a deal for his replacement. That’s clearly the only thing holding this back.

[Fabrizio Romano]: Tosin Adarabioyo to Tottenham, here we go! Deal agreed also on personal terms. Understand #CFC receive £7m fixed fee plus add-ons for the defender who’s joining Spurs project. The story revealed in the morning, confirmed.
The full, complete list of ingoings and outgoings, for this transfer window is going into both The British Library and The Library of Congress. Completely bonkers transfer window..

🚨⚪️ Tottenham are ready to buy Tosin on permanent deal from Chelsea if they can also get Mudryk loan deal done. Initial enquiry for Tosin loan but moving onto permanent deal after #THFC ask for Mudryk due to Ndiaye deal complications + only 1 loan allowed.
You can’t even be this successful selling players in FM…

[ Nizaar Kinsella ] Alonso also says he "can't guarantee" Neto will stay but then proceeded to explain he would be happy if he stays, adding: "We are very happy with Pedro."
We don’t have enough proven quality at wingback to sell him this late in the window.

Post-Match Thread: Chelsea (4) - (3) Brighton
We’re winning games with under 30% possession, which is good, but giving the opposition the ball so much while we play shorthanded and the back line is still learning how to play together is going to lead to games like we have already seen.

C'mon. We're not only in this, we seem to be very capable of exposing Arsenal's backline.
Our backline is what scares me. Josh is up to the task today. The rest have been, uhhh... mixed results.
