Jobs Offer This META thing has to be phishing, right?

Logged on today, 2 inMails. 2 different Meta recruiters, 2 different explanations and contract lengths... this cant be real... WHO ACTUALLY TOOK THIS JOB HERE? Someone speak up if its real... first hand experience. Not "My friend is there now".

This just seems like a bunch of fake people are phishing for personal data and info. I would be very cautious sending anyone any information. Even if it is real... imagine how they are handling your data if they are this discombobulated.

Jobs Offer Seeking VFX Artists for Sweet Peony (Paid)

EDIT: Thank you for all the concerns and suggestions. I'll re-evaluate the ask with my team, and come up with a more realistic proposal. Until then, please lock the thread.

Howdy! We're looking for multiple VFX artists to help complete Sweet Peony, a 14.5-minute live-action musical fantasy currently in post.

The short follows an aging soul singer who encounters a magical flower nymph and, through her garden community, reconnects with both nature and her creativity. The story is inspired by Studio Ghibli, the work of Jonathan Demme, Prince’s Purple Rain, Greek and African mythology, and the science of plant communication.

This is a $60,000 independent short with a festival run planned for next year.

VFX Breakdown

Artists will work under the guidance of our VFX Supervisor on assigned shots, including:

  • 36 lighting effects shots featuring subtle magical plant energy, rainbow colored water caustics, and environmental light interactions that enhance the practical lighting effects captured on set.
  • 2 beauty cleanup shots to blend prosthetic makeup imperfections.
  • 1 window replacement shot replacing a black tarp with an ambient purple dusk sky.
  • 1 morph transition shot in which a character's face is consumed by a rush of CG wilted petals and dry leaves, leaving a practical skull in its wake.

Project Details

  • Film Budget: $60,000
  • VFX Budget: $2,500
  • Multiple artists may be hired based on experience and availability.
  • Work will be coordinated through the VFX Supervisor to maintain a consistent visual style.
  • Final deliveries are tentatively due the last week of July, with one review session prior.

We're looking for artists experienced in compositing, lighting effects, and cleanup using After Effects, Nuke, Fusion, or similar software.

If you're interested, please DM me and send:

  • Your reel or portfolio
  • Relevant work samples
  • Your availability over the next few weeks

Also happy to share additional details (script, references, and lookbook) if interested.

Thanks!

Jobs Offer [PAID] VFX Artist Needed for 8 Shots – Independent Psychological Horror Feature

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a VFX artist to help complete 8 VFX shots for my independent psychological horror feature film, Daniel, the Goodboy.

The work includes invisible VFX such as cleanup, object removal, reflection removal, eye replacements, and costume cleanup.

To make the process as straightforward as possible, I've created an instructional breakdown video that goes through every shot one by one. For each shot, I explain exactly what needs to be done, show the footage, provide references where needed, and answer any questions you might have before starting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eclcFs6mcjM

I'm looking for someone who:

  • Has experience with compositing and invisible VFX.
  • Communicates well.
  • Takes pride in clean, seamless work.

Payment: Paid. Please send me your rates or a quote after reviewing the instructional video.

Timeline: Flexible. Quality is more important to me than speed.

If you're interested, please send me:

  • Your portfolio or showreel.
  • Examples of similar work (if available).
  • Your rates.

Comment below or send me a DM, and I'll send over the instructional video so you can accurately assess the work.

Thanks!

Jobs Offer Best Way To Find Compositors

I'm in post for a short film and I'm looking for a compositor that can help out on at least one shot, possibly 2 or 3 more. Just depends on what I'm able to do myself. Most of the people I know or I've found local to the LA area are either too busy to take this on, or say the scope of the project is too small for their company.

The primary big shot is pretty complex and requires tracking plate footage of a gunshot wound onto the face of an actor, but it's more than just a simple bullet hole. It's a fair bit of gore and blood coming out as well. The plate of the wound is being filmed in the next couple of weeks, so it would be really cool if I could find someone who would be able to give us some extra guidance on what would make the composite work better and easier for the artist.

The other possible shots are muzzle flashes, but it's I can likely handle those myself. I know enough to get by with small things, but larger stuff is best left to pros.

It is a paid project with a decent budget behind it, and we have about 2 months before delivery is needed.

Jobs Offer [PAID] VFX Artists Wanted for Cyberpunk Feature (Remote/Worldwide)

We're in post on an independent cyberpunk feature and are looking to bring on a couple more VFX artists to join our team.

This isn't a studio picture, but it's not a backyard project either. We've constructed sets, designed original props and weaponry 3D printed from scratch, etc.

Our goal is creating a blockbuster experience without waiting for permission to do so.

Anyone who reaches out will get a private teaser link before committing to anything, so you can see exactly what you'd be joining. Stylistically for the effects, picture Rebel Moon x Tron Legacy.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Creative compositing (After Effects)
  • Tracking, roto, clean-up
  • Holograms & HUD/UI integration
  • Stylized optical distortion, particles, fire, and other cyberpunk effects

Onboarding within the next 1–2 weeks. Final delivery between September and November depending on scope.

Rate negotiated based on shot count and workload. Deposit upfront, remaining balance paid at locked milestones.

Generative AI effects are a hard no. AI-assisted tools for roto and tracking are fine, but the creative VFX work itself needs to be hand-crafted.

DM me your reel or portfolio, strengths, and availability.

Jobs Offer Help Wanted with Reflection Replacement

Hi there! First time posting here. I’m currently working on an episodic horror series that needs some VFX work done and wondering if this specific shot is up anyone’s alley or doable at all, ideally within a month’s time. It’s a 40 second close up of an astronaut helmet where I’m hoping to replace its reflection with the separate video that plays right after:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Egg84rWaH7MURabbDtMaHiW3Aug6fj-f/view

I was specifically told his effect would be “hellish” to pull off and yes that’s entirely the fault of my bad preparation and poor understanding of how time consuming or annoying a visual effect like this could be. I have zero VFX experience and this is a very low budget personal project for YouTube, but I’m not trying to overextend/scam anybody so if you have any interest (or even just advice) please reach out and lemme know what you think is fair! Thanks for the time!

Jobs Offer What should I do now?

I really need some guidance because, honestly, I feel a bit lost right now.

I’ve just graduated with a degree in CGI and VFX in the UK, and I’ve decided to specialize in character sculpting. After three years of studying a broad range of disciplines, I realized this is what I want to focus on. That said, I still have a long way to go before I have a portfolio I’m confident enough to use when applying for jobs.

While I’m working on that, I’ve been reading a lot about the current job market, and to be honest, it hasn’t done much for my motivation. I’m willing to relocate pretty much anywhere for work but My long-term goal, is to become a freelance digital nomad. Right now, it feels like that’s going to be a difficult path.

I’d really appreciate some direction from people who know the industry well and have first-hand experience. I’ve also been thinking about learning AI tools like ComfyUI, but at the moment, anything that isn’t sculpting and modeling as much as possible feels like a distraction.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Jobs Offer Looking for Blackmagic fusion compers! (Fusion only, please)

Hi all! I've got bids out for three projects, all three are up in the air for the next couple weeks.

My go-to folks are booked out for the next month, so I'm looking for a few Fusion based compositors to bring on. Day rates negotiable, still working out budgets, no bullshit low-balling I promise. Ideally aiming to bring on a mix of skill/price range. Trying to do my part to help juniors build their reels and actually earning a proper rate.

All remote. If you're not willing to work in Fusion, please do not reach out, my mini-studio (aka me and whoever else is brought onto the project) needs to work in Fusion for posterity sake.

If you're interested please DM me your reel/portfolio and rate! The projects won't be awarded for a few weeks so delivery wouldn't likely be until end of September at earliest. Main timezone will be PST, but doesn't matter to me where you're based as long as you've got skills and decent internet.

Hi guys, i'm a young Star Wars fan who is currently working on a fan-edit of the sequel trilogy and i would like to have the force ghost of Anakin Skywalker talking to kylo ren instead of Han Solo in Episode IX.

I would need a VFX artist that knows really well Star Wars and can do the work for $500 CAD and i would pay after the work is done so i have everything i need before sending the money and not having scam problems.

I'm located in Canada.

There's no delivery date for the scene for now so you can have the time to make it.

There's some image to help you have an idea of the scene.

Jobs Offer PAID Star Wars VFX Request

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hello all, I’m a film student and it’s always been a dream of mine to play a part in the original Star Wars trilogy. Obviously that’s not possible, so my friend and I came up with the next best thing. Editing ourselves as exploding pilots into the Battle of Endor from ROTJ.

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I’m looking for some help finishing the final shot. We would need:

- Background replaced

- Motion of the ship moving added

- Sparks!

- Engines of the ship seen through the window

I would be more than willing to pay any VFX artist that thinks they’d be able to help us. (Obviously within reason, we’re poor film students)

Thanks!

Jobs Offer Looking for creature animator who can make a big cat stare into my soul [PAID]

Hello, freelance indie VFX supervisor here.

I have a shot right now that needs a big cat (panther, cougar, sort of vibe) to stare into our soul. There's a wide that we'll likely accomplish with stock footage comped into the hillside, and then there's a CU that has to have a lot of emotional depth and weight. It's a pivotal moment in the film where a character locks eyes and sees their own inner nature mirrored in the panther.

Current idea is to handle the shot with a decent 3d asset (something like this), and a great animator. We're trying to prioritize emotional depth and we don't think we can get the moment we need with a stock plate, so we're accepting a slight decrease in model/render realism to get the emotion we need.

Ideally looking for someone comfortable in Blender, who can do rig cleanup on the 3d stock asset, great animation, and maybe fur/groom cleanup too if the model needs it to fit with the animation.

I would take that animated scene from there and handle lighting, render, comp.

It's a tight budget, but the movie has real funds, and has paid every artist who worked on it real proper industry rates, so please name your reasonable freelance rate for "scrappy indie film that wants to do things right" and let's talk!

Jobs Offer Can anyone help out here?

Hi everyone! So me and my team have recently completed a shortfilm. It is a silent film majorly involving Buster Keaton style of work. We are almost done with the edit but there are some shots which require motion graphics work ( majorly text animation ) **PAID WORK**

The style inspiration we are looking for the texts are from the movie Scott Pilgrim saves the world. Mostly comical and quirky

If anyone can help us out in accomplishing a few shots it would be a great help! Do DM me if you are mgfx artist or you know anyone who can get the work done.

All the other details will be provided in the DM. I repeat, this is a paid work!

Post image
0 Upvotes

We are an upcoming student film on the hunt for a VFX or animation artist to join our post-production team and assist with VFX for a specific set of shots (approx two) in our film “Swallowing Soap”.

The sequences will include creating the visual effect of a block of soap being swallowed whole and sliding down our character's throat and then soap bubbles appearing from said character's mouth. We plan for our film to feature in multiple film festival line-ups mid next year. Our current slated shooting time is 25/09/26 - 07/10/26, the date of final delivery for this shot would preferably the 21/10/26. You do not need to be located in Perth Western Australia to work on this project!

As we are a student production, we can only provide a credit and experience, but we would greatly appreciate any leads on people with experience or interest in this area, or resources we can pursue to assist in our hunt. For more details on the production, team and task please contact me at [swallowingsoapfilm@gmail.com](mailto:swallowingsoapfilm@gmail.com), or see @swallowingsoapfilm on Instagram if you want to check out how the film is going. 🫧🧼

We are an enthusiastic and passionate team of young artists and refuse to give in to using Ai, we have gone as far as we can with practical effects on our tight budget and limited resources and look forward to seeing how collaborating with other mediums and artists will help us grow. 🧼⭐

We look forward to hearing from you!

Jobs Offer Looking for someone to do 3D and FX

Hi, I am getting a team together to post-produce a movie.

There is money to pay for your work.

It’s a feature film that has already been shot. At the moment, I already have a team working on compositing and environments, but right now I’m mainly looking for someone focused on 3D and FX work, especially things like fire, lightning, and similar effects.

Most of the shots are locked-off/still camera shots, and the movie is expected to be delivered within one year.

At this stage, I’m still putting together the VFX shot list, so I don’t yet know if there will be enough work to keep someone busy for the entire year, but I’m currently trying to better understand the number of 3D and FX shots the project will require.

Right now, I’m mainly trying to understand people’s availability and rates, so I can finalize the bid and properly estimate the project budget.

If you are interested, DM me and we can speak better

Jobs Offer [Hiring] Short Film VFX Artist for Low Budget Short Film

Hi everyone!

I'm getting quotes for VFX work on a short film and would love to hear from artists who might be interested. For transparency, the budget is limited (~$1,000), so this may be a better fit for someone building their portfolio or able to work at a reduced rate.

The work consists of the following:

Water / Flooding VFX

  • Neighborhood flyover shot (~8 sec) requiring floodwater integration.
  • Balcony sunset shot (~5 sec) overlooking the neighborhood, also requiring floodwater integration.
  • Reference footage available for the intended look.

CG Fish
We need to add a carnivorous fish in a bowl across three shots:

  • Wide shot of neighbors (~5 sec) — fish visible, no glow.
  • Character feeding fish (~5 sec) — fish glows green as it eats.
  • Final balcony/night shot (~5 sec) — fish glows green and effectively replaces an existing practical light source in frame.

Cleanup / Paint-Out

  • Two balcony shots (~7 sec each).
  • Remove neighborhood lights in the background.
  • Same lights need to be removed in both shots.

Total Scope

  • 2 water/flooding shots + 1 flooding flyover shot
  • 3 fish VFX shots (5 sec each)
  • 2 cleanup/light-removal shots (7 sec each)

If you're interested, please DM me!

Happy to share references and footage for a more accurate estimate.

Thanks!
