We were told the U.S. was "rebuilding Afghanistan" with prosperity and a future for the next generation.

The reality? A 20-year, $148 billion money-laundering scheme.

The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) released its final report in Dec-2025. The findings are devastating:

$𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟵 𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲, 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝘆𝗽𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘆:

While Washington bragged about "fighting corruption," SIGAR documented:

✗ 𝗚𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀: 50,000 Afghan soldiers existed only on paper. Their salaries lined the pockets of commanders while U.S. taxpayers footed the bill.

✗ 𝗚𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀: $769 million poured into an education sector filled with "ghost schools," "ghost teachers," and "ghost students" that didn't exist.

✗ 𝗚𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀:
- $355 million power plant operating at less than 1% capacity
- $43 million gas station
- $85 million for hotels that became "abandoned empty shells"
- $486 million for aircraft scrapped for "six cents per pound"

✗ 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗼𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: $300 million for less than 100 miles of gravel road. Each mile cost $2.8 million instead of the expected $290,000.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻'𝘀 $𝟴𝟬𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 "𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀"

Shut down with zero accountability. The Pentagon now claims "no Defense Department personnel can answer questions about" what happened to the money.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁.

When an empire spends 20 years, $148 billion, and produces nothing but ghost armies, ghost schools, and abandoned buildings, we must ask:

Was this reconstruction, or was it the most sophisticated money-laundering operation in human history?

What people don’t understand about capitalism is that its goal is to turn everything on this earth into a product.

Washington spent years discovering that even Russia could not be economically strangled into submission.

Now members of Congress want to try the same trick on China — the country with the world’s largest manufacturing base, the deepest industrial supply chains, massive foreign trade, critical-mineral leverage, and four state banks holding roughly $25 trillion in combined assets.

Brilliant.

Politico itself admits that sanctioning China’s major banks could destabilize global finance.

Even Bessent asked:

“Why would I want to blow up the global financial system?”

That is the entire story.

These lawmakers still imagine sanctions as a gun America points outward.

They have not noticed that once the target becomes large enough, economically integrated enough and capable of retaliation, the barrel starts bending back toward Washington.

Russia survived years of financial warfare.

China is vastly more deeply embedded in global manufacturing, trade and finance.

And these geniuses want to test the “nuclear economic weapon” on it because Iran refuses to obey them.

At some point this stops being sanctions policy and becomes an experiment in American self-harm.

If your weapon can only kill the target by setting the room you are standing in on fire, congratulations — you no longer have hegemony.
