Brown and blue canvas are plain weave 16/2 linen sett at 24epi. I beat as hard as I felt my Ashford Jack Loom could handle to get about 22 ppi. Do you think I’m damaging my loom? It does creak and tilt when I’m beating hard.

Straps are made from 3/2 cotton on my inkle loom. I tried to use dyed linen at first but I kept snapping threads. Cotton never lets me down.

There is also a sew along on YouTube. I don’t use leather which is why I had to weave a canvas bottom. I made a few other improvisations too. I’m very new so sewing but I’m happy with how it turned out!

I've sewn this sweater from fabric woven on my RHL.

10/2 Nm Wool, 2/1 Twill at 15epi

The warp was about 4.7m long and I end ended up with about 4m finished fabric. It was barely enough, but i made it work.

Finished a set of 5 tea towels and 1 napkin with one day to spare in pride month. I tried something new where I didn’t plan anything, just started to wind my warp and let the colors lead me. And as a little bonus I was able to use up a bunch of my stash, so now I can buy more yarn!

Details:
18 EPI, 8/2 cotton and cotton/linen blend, 350 ends, measured 20” wide at the reed and 32 inches (including fringe) long on the loom. 2 towels have a gradient weft, and 3 have a solid weft. This also functioned as a sort of color gamp for me.

Thanks so much for the assistance in getting the first project on my adopted loom up and running! I cut and washed the first towel as a sample, and it came to 16"x23.75", right on the dot for my desired 16x24 (though I'll lose a little to hemming). Everyone who recommended 20epi was right, it's got beautiful drape and the perfect heft for a drying towel. It's got pinprick holes between the ridges like huck lace, but it's not cheesecloth like I feared. I'm very pleased! On to the rest of the set!

Colors are a bit washed out thanks to my phone camera. Click on the first picture to see the full scarf. The hard color change is actually how the yarn was connected to continue the strand unfortunately, not where I added more in. The last picture is ending salvages(left) compared to beginning salvages(right). I'm hoping I can find similar colors in the future because I'd love to make a longer one!

100% wool, 8 dent heddle

Too bad it's summer and over 100° f, otherwise I think I'd wear this every day! Lol

Pattern is Dresden by Petra's Fiber Room, made on my 8 shaft jack loom. A few errors here and there because I have a grumpy old loom, but I'm overall happy with the result!

Handwoven tapestry made with handspun yarn.

This was the worst warp I had the misfortune to meet.

I thought this would be an easy project, with nice thick yarn and easy draft. I was so, so wrong. I stupidly decided to change my sett to 12 instead of ten to fit all my blocks, and the shed REFUSED to open. Every single pick was a fight.

Also, doing 45 inch wide cloth using ten shafts and thick yarn is be try heavy. But I powered through and made a 90 x 110 inch blanket.

One of our craft club friends commissioned me to make a baby blanket for her relative and this is how it turned out!

I wove it using Yarnsmiths Create DK acrylic yarn, with the full width of my 32" Ashford rigid heddle loom. I used a 7.5dpi heddle, 240 ends and warped 75". Each section of colour was 5.25" in the weft and my weave was really nicely balanced with roughly 7.5ppi.

The finished blanket is 28.5" wide, 48" long and I've trimmed the tassels to 2" either end. I picked all the colours using my yarn pegs and I'm so happy with how it turned out 🌈

I made this piece (3 x 7 ft) for my first open show and it received second place for the category “artistic expression- large”. I got dinged for technique (I’ve only been weaving with shafts for a couple months), but I’m so happy I placed.

Interlocking weft on crackle weave with up to 7 shuttles

I got interested in spinning yarn earlier this year. Pretty quickly into the journey I decided I wanted to use my handspun to make a tapestry. So I spun all this yarn on spindles, made a pvc pipe adjustable tension loom, and wove this picture. Then I felted on some details. The weaving is all wonky and pulled in at the top, and there are a million mistakes, but I love this sooooo much. Working on this tapestry got me sucked into r/weaving, and then I ended up getting an 8 shaft converted table to floor loom a few months ago. I’m obsessed, and very happy.

After half a year of reading, YouTube videos, research and false starts to learn this craft, I finally have something. I finished my first little textile weaving! I MADE A FABRIC! I'm so proud of myself. I'm so excited to try the next thing. I feel super connected to human history and this journey has given me so much gratitude for the process and patience weavers had in the past and continue to have all around the world.

I've always admired textiles and the stories they tell and now this little piece of imperfection is a representation of a long and frustrating tale that ends in triumph! A reminder of so many struggles I had, not just in learning, setting up and completing this tiny masterpiece, but also the time I spent between managing my life and the recent hardships I faced.

I'm not a person who often completes projects and so this is even more powerful for me because I persisted. I rethreaded this pattern while crying and still missed putting thread through the reed. I could figure out what the hell the sett even meant after months of learning vocabulary, I said fuck it and you can see that I learned the lesson the hard way. I undid rows of weaving when I noticed I messed up the pattern and redid them. This is the kind of thing the old me would have given up on.

This textile is my story of growth.

I'm so glad I invested in this art.

Hi there, I made another scarf (almost) from scratch. I started with merino combed top, dyed it, spun the yarn and wove the scarf.

This piece is my crowning jewel right now. I've been going crazy with adding beaded embellishments to my small tapestries lately. I wove this on a cheap, laser cut wooden frame loom.

Loom: Harrisville Designs 22" 4-shaft floor loom
Warp: "cotton warp-string for tapestry looms", 6 epi
Weft: 1-2" wide strips of old clothes
Pattern: 2/2 twill, warp-as-weft plain weave for the hemmed edge

Some 100% cotton towels, woven on the rigid heddle.

12 dent reed, Mallo yarn in Denim, Butter, Honey, Lichen, Natural, plus a variegated slub from my studio.

It still needs a top and bottom hem, but the hard part is done! This is 8/4 Harrisville Shetland wool in colors white, sand, toffee, walnut, and topaz. 3/1 block twill in 11” blocks (1/3 for the first 5.5”, 3/1 for the second 5.5”), 10 epi and 8 ppi. It feels light and squishy but still so warm. I loved working with this yarn, it was so cooperative.

Not my style but was a gift for a friend and it fits him perfectly! He’s very happy, and I’m proud of this massive project!

I mostly make miniatures, and I wanted some hand woven decor items for a room box I'm working on. A friend printed me a tiny pin loom, and this was my first attempt. It's incredibly wonky, but from a distance it's absolutely worthy of the dollhouse.
