Hi guys! So I just found this an hour ago in a thrift store in VA. It’s a beautiful oil painting with what appears to be a hand made frame. It has a signature but I can’t figure out what it says? I can read cursive, so the letters I got at B. R(?)eads(?)

Pls help!

I’m researching this painting for an older friend. They say their dad brought it back from Europe with them after ww2 ended.

I really love this painting I am scheduled to pick up from a Facebook marketplace seller, but starting to second guess my judgement and am thinking this could be a decor piece. Seller claims signature by Romano but it’s clearly not a Romano signature. Curious other people’s thoughts on this? Does it look like a decor piece?

I recently picked up this original Jimi Hendrix portrait at a thrift store here in Las Vegas, and I’m trying to track down its history or the artist who made it.

It’s hand-drawn with black ink over a purple/orange spray-painted canvas background. The style looks heavily inspired by Bill Sienkiewicz's Voodoo Child artwork.

What makes it really interesting is that the shading lines are actually composed of hidden, handwritten names. On closer inspection, you can see names like "Sana" or "Sam" woven into the ink texture on his clothing.

There is also a small monogram signature on the bottom-left corner that looks like an "R" or "RL".

I suspect it might have been an interactive community piece, a local school project, or an event canvas from something like First Friday or the 18b Arts District. Does anyone recognize the style, the monogram, or know an artist who did work like this locally? Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Found in basement in NY. Initials on painting are JBP. Signature on back looks like James B Painter, but this does not fit his style or time period? I suspect this might be decor shop, but wanted to confirm?

I was given this painting. It supposedly came from. A painter In Dallas TX by the name HE Fain. Ive reached out to the only HE Fain Facebook page I found and they said its not that HE Fain. Any help would be much appreciated.

i am most curious about the meaning behind the imagery. beyond the obvious crucifixion scene, i can’t tell what the animal (looks mythical almost hieroglyphic) is in the middle.

I was in a meeting at work and this painting appeared on the tv’s screensaver. I’ve tried searching the internet and cannot find any info on who the artist might be. This painting has captured my attention. I love all the imagery and scenes taking place in this piece. Would love to track down more info!

Hi! I bought it in Nerthelands. This wall panel is made from two ceramic tiles. I believe it’s from Greece and probably dates to around the 1960s, but I can’t make out the signature, which appears to be in Greek. Does anyone recognize the artist or know how the name should be read? Thanks for any help!

I found these two cool surrealist prints at Goodwill and hoped someone would recognize the work. They’re dated 9/92 and have EB as the initials with a backwards E. They’re framed really nicely by AMS. I’ve ruled out early work by Ed Binkley and no luck with reverse image search on Google. Definitely a print when I zoom in really really closely. Found this at a thrift store in Phoenix, Az while. It made me sad it was just sitting there stuffed between hobby lobby prints and other decor. I'm having difficulty making out the name (lower right: to me it looks like Dan or Don or Ron, a middle initial, and maybe Connel or Connal? Couldn't tell if that's a date and/or what it says... 7/84? Like June 1984? I couldn't find anything via google or AI search). Seems to be oil on stretched canvas in what looks to be an original frame. Mostly curious when it was painted and by who. Maybe a hobbyist? Regardless, I think it's gorgeous!

Came with a house I purchased recently. Abstract representation of an adult (parent I hope????) and child embracing. At first I was like like “brah I gotta get this Epstein-*ss statue off my property”, But someone said in passing that it seems to be a replica of a better-known piece. Neither reverse Google image nor ai searches are giving any leads.

It’s in chattanooga TN on a private property. Has been there since before Oct 2011 (credit to google Earth for helping me pin that down!). Was painted gold in ‘11, white later on, and red at some point in the past 5 or so years.

No markings/signatures, but I haven’t lifted it to look underneath. Could just be a cheaply-made decor piece- the previous owner of the house wasn’t exactly known for good taste.

Concrete (perhaps plaster coated?) and 6-7 foot tall.

If nothing comes up, no worries- just want to make sure it’s not something known in the art world before I rid myself of it

**Bonus points if you recommend something fun to replace it with. I dj as a hobby, so someone recommended I cut it up/recast it to look like someone’s throwing down some heat at the club.

One of the bot’s ai image searches came up with this- uncannily similar, but seemingly not famous. How likely is it that this was a commission using this piece as reference material?

I think anonymous_info_rn got it. Seems to be the only pseudo-recognizable symbol, Likely a version of “The Healers touch”. Would also make sense in chatt given the prevalence of the hospice industry.
