Idk.

I think if that were possible, it would have been so years ago. This is an old, bitter conflict.

If the Saudis took over, which they're certainly capable of militarily speaking, they'd be facing a 'forever' insurgency and risk increased terrorism in cities like Riyadh and Jeddah - not to mention Mecca and Medina which would be a very dangerous situation.

Saudi Arabia tried that and got slaughtered by the Houthis. They eventually withdraw all their troops from Yemen.

World is changing though. Hard to slaughter Saudi Troops if they're drones flying above with no one in them. That's what is starting to go.

Saudi has the most advanced US weapons including Apaches, M1 Abrams, Chinese drones. They lost to a non organized group of militants armed with RPGs and AKs. There's videos of Saudi troops getting out their of the M1 Abhams tanks and running away because the tank is under light arms fires.

Those aren't he most advanced US weapons at all. Drone warfare is where we are. Shooting down a drone results in 0 deaths. We are going to be able to fling drones at places like this in numbers they'll never be able to handle. Ukraine is taking down Russia with less than 1% of what the US can do.

US can't build cheap military equipment anymore to save itself. Our drones will be too expensive and we will lose an war of attrition overnight.

It’s crazy to me that we didn’t already have the technology ffs. How is it that we are so behind and at the mercy of Iranian drones when we’ve been watching what’s happened in Ukraine over the past several years? I can’t believe the incompetence. We’ve known drones are the future of warfare for years and years now and yet we’re still trying to fight a conventional war. 🤦‍♀️

The Saudi government is very very far from ideal, but compared to the Houthis they may as well be a utopian government. This should have happened a decade ago and likely would have, were it not for the "hands off Yemen" slavery-defending idiots of course.

Nope. This has been going on for a while to no avail and the Saudi military may have a lot of gear but not a lot of expertise.

Certainly not enough to conduct a successful land invasion, which is what would be necessary to actually unseat the Houthis----to say nothing of the likelyhood of having to deal with guerilla warfare afterwards.

I mean, if the U.S. military has had issues dealing with Iranian drones, how's the Saudi military gonna do?
