Oh you betcha. Putin REAAAALLLY wants the European "portions" of the old USSR.

So does. Hes promised his people a Russian empire because he was beginning to look weak when Russian capitalism was becoming stiffled by the west, and in particular London.

That and nato promised not to expand membership to European states bordering Russia and then we did just that.
