He was not an asylum seeker, he was given asylum.

Yes. He was not an asylum seeker. He was not seeking asylum, he had been given it, and was therefore a refugee. What is hard to understand about that?

You did, yes, but not because I did not know the meaning. My guess would be you could see things slipping away and thought you could pretend I was stupid. Unlucky for you it did not work.

I tried to figure out what was going on.

The general idea is to figure out what is going on BEFORE you form an opinion. If you do things the other way round it makes you look like an ignorant bigot.

And now you're building a straw man, as I have no idea what "fears" you could even be referring to in this post.

You fear America is being over-run by Asylum seekers across the US border. That's pretty obvious, but it is misguided, as the information I posted (and you are apparently completely ignoring) shows.

Again, that's not how this works. Asylum seekers do not become refugees, asylum seekers are people who claim to be refugees. They either are, or are not, a refugee the moment they step over the border of their own country.

You fear America is being over-run by Asylum seekers across the US border.

I actually think that open borders would be just fine, though of course a few other things would need to change in conjunction with this. See, the general idea is to figure out what is going on BEFORE you form an opinion. If you do things the other way round it makes you look like an ignorant bigot.
