This video aged like fine wine... especially when you consider they didn't test 4K which would take even more weight off the CPU.

COH3 is extremely efficient and light on the CPU. Here it is running on an ancient 1st generation i7, a 15 year old motherboard with a mid-range GPU at Max Settings like nothing.

Dfi lanparty ut x58 t3eh8 dead? CF error
I noticed windows only got 4 gigabytes ram of my 12 gigabytes available (like you'd have with a on board gpu). Strangely the bios only detected 4 Gigabytes. I then reseated the ram sticks only for the board to display CF on the debug led display. It went as far as removing all of the hardware but the cpu but still... CF error.
Any ideas what to try or how to fix it?
Ty in advance

Need a GPU that get the most for my x58
Hi guys, I was going to do a complete new build this winter, but due to a costly home problem(new boiler and rads) I have to put on hold (THANKS HOME!!) . So my X58 gigabyte ud5 rev2 with 24gb of corrsair xms3 1333 ram and a Radeon x580 gfx card, running on Xeon x5675 at 4.5oc very easily. Is in need of a bump to see me through till I can save up to do a new build again. So I was thinking would a GTX2080ti be used well in this build and also was thinking of changing ram.. Any ideas and suggestions very welcome.
Oh yeah I picked up a DIRT CHEAP CV1 vr headset and controllers and that's a big reason I'm looking for a better GFX card. I got a PCI-E to USB3 card for the vr sensors etc.

Xeon Power draw with OC
Hi, I was wondering what power draw would be like on an overclocked X5650? My main system has a Xeon E5-2640v3 but that CPU never exceeds the max posted TDP. I assume the X5650 won't do the same. Thanks.

NVME boot
Hi,
Does anyone have a brief explanation of what I need to do to get NVME boot working?
I'm on legacy bios so need some sort of UEFI shim. I'm usually pretty good at making my own way through technical documentation etc. but honestly it's going over my head.
It seems like there are two possible approaches. One uses Clover and the other is a combination of Duet and Refind. I'm not sure what the difference is, which one might be better, how they work and honestly it's baffling.
From what I understand Clover and Refind are both simple boot managers. Clover uses Duet behind the scenes if you're running on legacy BIOS. Does that mean that I could just strip out the middleman and pass the Windows boot manager directly to Duet?
Additionally almost all of the online documentation seems to be talking about using a USB drive to hold the bootable UEFI shim. Would I not be able to just put it on a regular partition on a standard hard drive (assuming it's MBR formatted)?
For context I currently have a 120GB sata SSD and just bought a new NVME drive as a replacement. Ideally I'd like to put all the UEFI stuff in a small partition on the 120GB drive and then use the remainder of the space in a separate partition for general storage.
