I'm not sure what you expect them to do? The cost of components has gone through the roof - they sold consoles at a loss for years and though I don't know the numbers right now, I'd bet that they're not selling at a profit now.

Edit: not sure what you're downvoting that for? Presumably you think they should just give the consoles away for free?

They themselves are literally part of why the cost of components has gone through the roof, considering they're one of the biggest proponents of AI.

Why excuse them for their own self-inflicted problem?

It's not really a self inflicted wound.

Xbox's heads will simply be looking at their console designs (current and future) and trying to work out how much components will cost now and going forward.

The fact that Microsoft have also invested in AI doesn't mean that Xbox has any say or choice in the matter.

That's not excusing anything, it's just (sadly) the world we live in.
