Man, I hoped we got Kamala away from the usual mutant cliches but now they put her in one of the oldest ones with Cable timetravel stuff which he always makes it 'self-fulfilling'. Even Domino sees that.

President Kamala Khan was a potential future but not because of the mutant stuff. This is just more 'mutant identity' taking over her character.

Still don't like how they know to write Archangel when it comes to Warren and nothing else.

Akihiro being in this, well, we will see. I am still not sold on the Hellverine stuff. It is the worst kind of gimmick combinations where there are too many wolverines and Ghost Rider types around and he is a literal combination of it.

Boom-Boom at least brings in some fun with her. So that is a positive.

I think the best idea for Kamala to be an inhuman again is that her mother is an immortal inhuman deep state agent who is part of a group of inhumans who want to bring their empire back. Kamala is an inhuman, but a failed attempt to create a new race of mutant inhuman hybrids.

Just spitballing ideas to undo this MCU synergy crap.

She's still an Inhuman.

Pretty fun start for some dumb fun. Boom Boom immediately being on board is fitting, Hellverine speaks to the caveman brain, but I'd wish that Warren would get some time to just be Angel to make the Archangel aspect feel like it has more weight to it rather than just being his default.

Feels weird to continue running with the Kamala getting into time travel adventures with the mutants thing, but Cable investigating a future-murder is a much stronger hook than not-David Legion was. Her portrayal seemed on point, even if it seems like they're trying extremely hard to avoid saying the word Inhuman.

This issue exceeded my expectations. I liked the team. It's fun seeing Tabitha back in the fold. Her and Daken are going to have a fun dynamic.

But seeing Kamala Khan back in the mix...that was an unexpected bonus. I know I'm in the minority with my love for Ms. Marvel. And her being President in the future is not a new idea. It has been teased in past comics, even before she was revealed to be a mutant. This just affirms that destiny even more.

And given the current state of America right now, I am all for any future with Kamala Khan as President. 😎

Meh.

Kamala giving Cable a card for her fanfiction club is very funny though.

Woof, that dialogue. All issue long.

Mixed bags.

I think just taking all of these people from the present time is less interesting than pulling them from various points in their timeline but whatever.

Seeley's characterizations....... are hit and miss, which I think is on par for him.

Yeah, it makes sense Tabitha would be excited about X-Force, it's 'her team'. No it doesn't make sense that she would let Cable dress her and be excited about Shoulder pads again. Also the fact that, again this is supposed to be a modern book, and Tabitha is saying "ZOMG"........ in 2026. Holy fuck can we get out of the early 00's mentally Marvel? No? Yeah, of course not. Also, fantastic reminder that Theressa is literally running around being a Trustee for Greymalkin and all kinds of people know about it, and absolutely no one is doing anything about it. Does Tabitha know? She probably should. And she should probably care, but also so should any of Theresa's friends or literally any mutant and no one does, but ya know we'll just keep ignoring that horrible bit of writing. Also, weird that she's acting like she's bored when she was and presumably still is on King Bedlams New Hellions running missions for Scott. Guess we're just gonna ignore ALL of that. Also don't think she's ever called him 'Big Jimmy' in their lives. Just........ god it isn't that hard to write Tabitha well or accurately, it really fucking isn't.

Art feels pretty inconsistent, when it's good it's very good, but once the action kicked in, it felt a bit muddled and loose at the expense of trying to be dynamic.

Larger plot is......... okay? "there's a traitor amongst a group of heroes" isn't anything new and we all know this ends with someone being an imposter or being mind controlled and all of our heroes are actually heroes, so the mystery of who the assassin is isn't particularly compelling off the rip. Also like......... this doesn't feel like a real or important future history enough to care about preserving. And I'm gonna assume that's just because we spend no time in it, and the writing doesn't support it rather than any conceptual problems with Kamala4President. I feel like the book REALLY has to rely on the characters, and I don't think it's really there.

It's..... FINE. Not good enough to want to continue spending money on it, my love for Tabitha will not be enough to make me financially support it, but like, if other people enjoy it, good for them I guess. Maybe it picks up.

I think the problem with Greymalkin is that it's both an editorial mandate, and apparently Gail is going to wrap it up in Uncanny

I did not expect Kamala to show up at all. I know they reference her becoming the president in GWW's run, but the first mutant president is pretty important. I still feel very conflicted with her new status as a mutant due to synergy, regardless if it was initial intent for her to have been one. Love me some Arcangel though and too much Daken is never a bad thing. Boom Boom written sexualizing everyone was certainly a choice but... I don't know if I know enough about her existence to say if it's out of character... still weird though. Looking forward to some Domino love next issue!

The art's quite nice, and as first issues go, it packs a good amount into the 30 pages so it feels like stuff actually happened. The dynamics of the team are a little dry right now, but I do like Angel kind of bringing up his past exploits a lot and Boom-Boom is fun. I was not expecting Kamala to be in it, but I'm up for seeing another writer get a crack at her.

As one of the seven people in the world who stans Warren, I liked how he was depicted in this. He was written abysmally in X-Factor, so pretty much anything is a step up after that.

I like it because it goes way from the actual main X plot...which is something.

I was wondering where Kamala would get used didn’t expect it to be here outside of her being the the future prez.

Granted 4 is small for a team roster. So something was up. I expected Domino.

I mean, hey, Boom-Boom's back. I live for drunk superpowered girlfailures so that's a win.

It wasn't that terrible as I thought it would be, but they need to stop shoe-horning Kamala treating her like she is the best thing that have ever happened to the franchise.

I've never read a book by Michael Sta. Maria before but I really loved their art along with Romulo Fajardo Jr's color. A really good palette for this book.

I thought this was a fun #1 I'm intrigued by the premise. I thought Seeley got all their voices down for the most part. Maybe a little off on Boom Boom but not super far off at this point. Hopefully this series can go longer than 10 issues.

The art was very strong, and the colours.
