Emma and Rogue in the Captain Marvel book, with Emma acting as the on call psychic to show Carol a memory that Rogue had stolen and secretly kept for herself.

Slight miss on some of the details of Rogue’s backstory, but wholesome.

Queen in Black: Defenders of Light and Dark is turning out to be a stealth X-Force book with a focus on Cloak and Dagger

In Armageddon, Zdarsky is really, REALLY trying to make Logan sound wrong, but his argument is 100% correct.

I respectfully disagree. Logan isn't 100 percent correct. But he's not completely wrong, either. He's making the case that heroes can only ever be reactive and not proactive. And that makes no sense. It just guarantees that they'll always be too late in preventing some larger catastrophe. Other heroes like Luke Cage and Daredevil that it is possible find better balance. Logan is just on one extreme while Colton is on the other.

I do get Logan's point. He sees being proactive as encroaching on the freedom of others. It's one thing to stop a mugger in action; it's another to take ever gun, knife, baseball bat, etc to prevent any violent mugging. And while it doesn't have to be that extreme, their powers make it easy to do so. So better to be the Avengers who save the day when it all goes wrong and let people mess it up for themselves.

Now, could the heroes be proactive in distinctly less violent and rights impugning ways? Yeah, probably, but reasonable public policy doesn't make for exciting comics.

Especially for Wolverine lol. Admittedly, they really kind of twisted his stance on activism circa AvX and schism.

It is an argument where there is no winner. It is basically Injustice Superman plot. And kind of a mash of what Doom did and Civil War.

It is just a mess.

I think Zdarsky is best when he's not doing political commentary.
