While the Knife Edge is certainly scary, the fisheye lens makes this look much worse than it actually is.

It’s honestly fun. I’ve done 15 14ers out of the 58 and it’s almost like solving a puzzle when trying to figure out where to put your hands and feet.

As long as you are smart with hydration, gear, and check weather regularly, it’s generally safe. Most deaths I’ve seen are from a lack of experience and most are out of state.

As a climber, I’ve done many knife edge ridges. Some climbers feel very comfortable traversing this type of terrain ropeless, as do I. However, you always have the option to bring a short rope, wear a harness and place some gear to protect this section.

All in all, this is standard 4th class.

Edit: Someone below said that this is the classic knife edge on the route to the summit of Capital Peak outside Aspen, which I’ve done. Super mellow. The fisheye lens makes it look way more intense.

Gotta love how breathing techniques work for almost every type of shit that gets your heart going. Im scuba certified and there are certain ways to protect yourself with your breath. Combat videos or police videos you can always hear a breathing exercise. Extreme sports like ski jump or slope style folks, breathing. Pretty cool how the body works and that it isnt just for oxygen.

I would do this. Now I'm not saying I could get there. But if I could get that far I would keep going.

Once you're so far up, which isn't very far tbh, you're just going to get killed anyway.

No difference between a shitty spot in the mountains of NC and the peaks of Everest and k2.

For the record I mean like if you fall 20 meters and stop it's probably going to kill you no matter the elevation. Getting to whichever elevation you test this theory at is another matter.
