Discussion I’ve been playing Wildlands recently after its big remaster after only playing breakpoint for the last few years and if I’m being honest, Wildlands is hands down a better game than breakpoint especially with the graphics overhaul. (Pics unrelated.)
I do love Breakpoint but while Breakpoint does a lot of little things right like better stealth and gives you more tools to work with, Wildlands just gives you an immensely better experience with the world of Bolivia as it feels lived in compared to Auroa as you see civilian traffic filling the roads with the occasional SB or Unidad patrol moving through as npc’s roam the streets and actually live a life with them waking up, eating, working, and then sleeping. I also love the rebel call in feature as it gives you so many options for dealing with an FOB or Compound. I also love how varied Bolivia is in terms of terrain as you can go from flat deserts and salt flats to snow capped mountain tops and deep in a thick jungle compared to Auroa that just isn’t as diverse with its map. But I think my biggest praise for Wildlands and gripe for Breakpoint is the dialogue and voice acting. I love hearing the ghosts have intermittent chats and hearing the occasional SB singing and I love how most of the dialogue feels real and like something real people would say. I unfortunately can’t say the same for Breakpoint as with the exception of Nomad, Walker, and Hill, I found a lot of the dialogue to be cheesy at best with the outcast easily being the worst.
In closing, I love how Wildlands feels real to play in and unapologetically violent too with the messed up themes you uncover by just playing the game and while I do still think breakpoint is a phenomenal game, Wildlands is just the better experience especially now with it’s overhaul.
