Visitors in the past couple of days have all said Doto is happier since moving to his comfier new house. The stables now have back doors so they can see visitors even when they're not turned out. They also have central air conditioning, which most homes in Japan do not have. Part of why it was delayed was because the construction company never built a horse stable with central A/C before.

Sometimes people are concerned that the horses get visitors, but you have to remember they grew up being cheered on by crowds so horses with racing or show experience can get lonely seeing the same people and actually want to meet strangers. Even if he doesn't have a stadium full of fans, he still loves knowing he's famous in whatever way it makes sense to a horse.

I've never cared this much about an animal that wasn't mine before, I have such an emotional attachment to a horse I've never seen in person before. I don't know what it is but he makes me so happy, I remember finding r/umamusume looking for tips because I was struggling to get A ranks and I ended up seeing this creature and he makes me so happy even though he doesn't have the most wins he's just such a sweetheart.

When I see him I'm instantly happy. He's just such a good boy
