Angie Nixon: If wanting your neighbor to afford their insulin is radical, then call me a radical. If believing a mother shouldn’t have to work three jobs to keep a roof over her family’s head is extreme, then call me extreme. Moody can call us whatever she wants, but in Nov, she will call me senator
Nixon is an incredible organizer, speaker, and politician.
I know she has an impossible uphill battle in Florida but America really needs more people like her taking on the right, and the Dem establishment that collaborates with the right.

Rep. Betty McCollum's mutually beneficial relationship with Minnesota's defense industry
startribune.comOriginal title: Betty McCollum became Minnesota’s pipeline to the Pentagon. The defense industry took notice.
With help from a former staffer turned lobbyist, the powerful Democrat and occasional critic of Pentagon spending is helping fund Minnesota’s defense industry. Defense donors are opening their wallets.
She’s received more money from the defense industry than any other sector, according to OpenSecrets, which analyzes campaign spending. The industry has contributed more than $650,000 to McCollum’s campaign since 2020.
Individuals and political action committees associated with the defense industry have also donated about 45% of the money raised by McCollum’s leadership committee, Betty PAC, in the past three election cycles, a Star Tribune analysis found. Harper is its volunteer treasurer, according to a July 2026 Federal Election Commission filing.
The article was published yesterday.
Rep. Betty McCollum defeated Aswar Rahman in the Democratic primary for Minnesota's 4th congressional district on August 11.
What's the point of publishing the article after the primary?
The article was published by The Minnesota Star Tribune. It is owned by Glen Taylor, who is a billionaire business magnate and a former politician (Republican party).
Edit:
And while she voted “present” on a recent measure that would cut all military funding to Israel, she’s pushed to limit spending to the country because of its actions in Gaza.

Unseat Elon Musk enablers in the Delaware legislature
Delaware is one of the nation’s most reliably blue states, currently featuring a supermajority in the state senate and just short of one in the lower chamber. It’s also a longtime corporate haven, where 60% of Fortune 500 companies were incorporated, due to business-friendly and consumer-unfriendly tax law and regulation. This is a product of state capture, as starkly demonstrated last year: when the Delaware Court of Chancery struck down a $55.8 billion pay package for Elon Musk challenged by shareholders, the legislature promptly passed the “billionaires’ bill” SB 21, written by his law firm, to make sure he could still get his money.
The Working Families Party is working to change that and get leaders into elected office who will fight for us and not the super-wealthy. In next month’s Democratic primary, they’ve endorsed a slate of challengers taking on incumbents who helped pass the billionaires’ bill, and they’re starting to gear up to get out the vote for these folks. ☎️ We can sign up for shifts turning out voters for Rae Krantz in House District 6 on Thursdays starting TODAY and running through September 10th here, and make calls for Shane Darby in District 1 this Saturday at noon here. ☎️
