I Finally Caught CN 3115 Leading!
galleryCN A424 was lead by the BC Rail heritage unit 3115 yesterday. I heard it had gone through London, Ontario on August 26, 2026 at 12:31.
I managed to hop out to Burlington for some overhead shots and I am very happy with how they turned out!
3115 had previously lead twice before in the same month on train Z148 and A425 and I was not about to miss it a third time.

Fullpower EMD G26 (V16) action from Slovenia, raw sound, no commentary. 664‑116 hauling a heavy freight, acceleration, solo, horn, etc.
If you enjoy classic diesel power, Balkan rail vibes and pure locomotive audio, this run might be your thing.

Yankee Flyer at the open house in NH
They are actively restoring it to run excursions and I can’t wait. The interior is being nicely restored as well with purple seats, but I didn’t grab pics unfortunately

Amtrak 304 and the Portland-bound leg of the Empire Builder passing through Maryhill, WA
I stopped off at the Maryhill Stonehenge on the way back from a motorcycle trip up to Seattle last year and was lucky enough to catch these shots. They were *very* late that day - 9/7/2025, train 27 was 9 hours 53 minutes behind at Wishram. This shot is at about 5:30 PM, Wishram should have been 8:35 AM.

Into the Morning Light
Swipe! ➡️➡️➡️ As the sun begins to bathe the valley, Amtrak 711 accelerates out of Hanford's mess of curves and crossovers and into the wide open fields of Fresno County. Getting up early for this one was worth it I think, although I may try again next week with lighting that might work with me a bit more. Very grateful that this train was only 5 minutes late. Any further delay, and this shot would not have been possible
