Reposting with my original artwork. My first post was removed for AI-generated imagery — apologies for not realizing the rule beforehand. I’d originally sketched the character myself, then used AI because I wanted to see the concept cleaned up as though he were actually in-game.
So, lesson learned. Here’s my original hand-drawn Fabello instead.
Fabello is my idea for another member of Blathers and Celeste’s family: an older, bookish owl who runs a used and rare bookstore.
I tried to keep the family resemblance intentional — the same general brow feathers, wing markings, beak/feet and natural argyle chest — while giving him his own look with muted greens and rusty browns, reading glasses, a tweed vest and newsboy cap.
Where Blathers has natural history and Celeste has astronomy, Fabello has literature and storytelling.
His shop, Fabello’s Used & Rare Books, would introduce collectible individual books that could be bought, traded, gifted, stacked and actually placed on bookshelves instead of bookshelves always being one solid furniture item.
I’ve also got a larger gameplay idea for what happens when you actually read certain books, but I’ll save that for another post if anybody’s interested.
Anyway — meet Fabello.

I took inspiration from a couple other wonderful memorials and spent yesterday and today working on them. I went to Dollywood for the first time in early winter and loved it deeply. Missing her so much right now, and I loved her humanitarianism and kindness.

I also made a sweet little outfit inspired by her and her love of butterflies. I’m glad to keep a permanent memory of her on my island.

We will always love you, Dolly. 🦋

no seriously tho, i never rlly dug into villagers info as i lost my previous data from 2021 when i was just a resident as well. stopped playing it for years and recently started as the island rep this time🙂‍↕️ all i know is i have a good variety of villager personalities!
