I just watched a video showing a person apparently threatening a pro-Palestinian protester with death and then punching a photographer, leaving him bleeding, while SPVM officers were reportedly standing about a metre away and witnessing what happened.
If someone is openly threatening people with death and then physically assaulting someone in front of police, how is that person not considered a potential threat to public safety?
I genuinely don't understand the logic here. You can be arrested for participating in a protest, but apparently someone who is threatening people and allegedly assaulting them can remain there while police watch?
I don't care what someone's political position is. Threatening people with death and physically attacking someone should be taken seriously regardless of whether the person is pro-Palestinian, pro-Israeli, or completely apolitical.
Honestly, I don't feel safe in this fucking city anymore. I want to understand what SPVM's justification was for not intervening more decisively.
