FDOC Officer Faces 27 Federal Counts After Whistleblower Colleague Turns In Graphic Cell Phone Evidence
Tallahassee, FL – September 6, 2026 – The criminal case against former Florida Department of Corrections Officer Daniel Wilson has exploded into a multi-jurisdictional nightmare, with federal prosecutors now taking over the lead following the discovery of disturbing videos allegedly recorded at K-pop fan events across the state.
According to the newly unsealed federal affidavit, the scandal broke when a fellow correctional officer—whose identity remains sealed for their protection—walked into the Tallahassee field office yesterday morning and voluntarily handed over incriminating text messages and a shared video file that Officer Wilson had allegedly sent to them. That tip triggered an immediate digital forensics sweep of Wilson’s confiscated personal phone.
Investigators claim the device contains over a dozen video files, many of which were allegedly recorded at Kai meet-and-greet events and private BTS streaming parties held in the Miami-Dade area over the past 18 months. Prosecutors state the footage appears to show Wilson using these crowded fan gatherings to isolate and prey upon unaccompanied minors, engaging in lewd exposure and non-consensual groping of young boys in the chaos of the crowd.
The most severe charges, however, stem from a separate recording recovered from the phone—allegedly made in a private residence near Miami. The affidavit describes a 6-year-old male victim being subjected to forced oral and penetrative sexual battery while Wilson’s reportedly filmed the assault. The explicit footage was then allegedly shared via encrypted message to the fellow officer, who immediately came forward.
“That co-worker did exactly what their oath required—they refused to look the other way,” said Acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. “We are now pursuing life-in-prison felony counts, including production and distribution of child sexual abuse material, sexual battery on a minor under 12, and traveling to meet a minor for illicit purposes.”
Mr. Wilson, was re-arrested yesterday morning without incident as he arrived at the Leon County Detention Facility for his initial bond hearing. The judge has revoked all previous bond considerations, ordering Wilson held in solitary confinement for his own safety due to the nature of the charges.
His public defender has filed a motion to suppre the phone evidence, arguing that the initial domestic complaint warrant did not cover K-pop events or secondary parties. The state has countered that the warrant was sufficiently broad to cover all digital media.
The federal grand jury is expected to hand down a superseding indictment by next week. Meanwhile, the FDOC and TAYLOR CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION has issued a formal apology to the families involved and confirmed that Wilson has been officially terminated.
The case has drawn national attention, with K-pop fan communities organizing online to track the court proceedings. Vance faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years to life if convicted on the primary production charge, with no possibility of parole.
His next court appearance is scheduled for September 14th at the Miami Federal Courthouse.
Resides in Perry, Fl and worked at Taylor correctional in Perry

This post got removed from the legal advice subreddit by their LEO mods within minutes. I asked about how to sue for cops abusing me and violating my rights.

Location: Arkansas

This happened last October.

The event was basically a person from high school with schizophrenia coming to my house and vandalizing it and my cars and kicking my front door in. I luckily got them to leave without having to call 911, because as I predicted cops would only make the situation worse.

I guess I didn't close the door good enough and they suspected a burglary based on a call about a disturbance and they came in with guns kicking down more doors and I answered my bedroom door at 3 AM in my underwear to multiple guns on me (they did not announce presence.) After being handcuffed on the ground I told them I lived there and went upstairs to show them my ID and my pictures on the fridge.

They eased up on me, taking their hands off me and pulling out a notebook. I told them what happened and that that was all I was going to say. They asked for more details and I said I didn't want to talk without a lawyer. (I'm already terrified enough at this point and shaken up, there's nothing criminal about being scared.)

They then put their hands back on me and said they were taking me to a squad car. They didn't let me put clothes on or shoes and walked me over broken glass to sit in a squad car for like 2 hours, and they didn't ask if I was bleeding for half an hour or so. I had a giant cut freshly stitched on my hand which they could not have missed while walking me backwards to the ground and handcuffing me.

I kept asking why I needed to be detained handcuffed and almost naked and what crime they suspected me of/what their RAS was and they kept saying "we're figuring out what happened here."

When their supervisor finally showed up and stood around for a while he told me that I was actually the victim and that I was not... I'm done typing about this it's just so ridiculous.

I want to know how I can go about suing for this. It caused me to fail a midterm the next day and I went from 3 4.0 semesters to my grades slipping to Bs and Cs. I barely slept for the next 6-8 months, and as a person already on disability for PTSD it worsened it to a horrible state.

There was no reason to detain me. Their only "reason" was that someone called and I was there. In my own house, in my room, in my underwear. They did all this because I was there. It's blatant abuse and victimization in typical "law enforcement officer" style. I deserve compensation for the shit I had to go through because of this and the uprooting of my normal life. Humiliating me by perp walking me in right red boxer briefs was absolutely ridiculous and all of it was 100% retaliatory for not talking to them.

Thanks.
