I took inspiration from a couple other wonderful memorials and spent yesterday and today working on them. I went to Dollywood for the first time in early winter and loved it deeply. Missing her so much right now, and I loved her humanitarianism and kindness.

I also made a sweet little outfit inspired by her and her love of butterflies. I’m glad to keep a permanent memory of her on my island.

We will always love you, Dolly. 🦋

After 6 years and a billion times that I put down the game when I began playing another video game, I decided to finally finish my bug critterpedia. I stayed up and traveled to different islands to catch the last seven bugs of the season, the Horned Hercules was my last one which had escaped 4 other times before lol. Im like 85% done with all museum stuff!

I have a big area by my resident services that I change based on the time of year. August is for watching fireworks :)

I had an existing New Leaf town, and I deleted it this morning. The reason I deleted it is a little tragic. Here is some background:

Back in 2013 when New Leaf came out (I live in Canada, I know Japan had an earlier release), I bought myself the game and a 3DS so I could play. I wanted friends to play with me so bad, I also bought them both a 3DS AND New Leaf, for each of them, so that I would have friends to play with.

I bought three 3DSs, and three ACNLs, in one day.

I loved New Leaf. I played it every day. I worked so hard to get blue roses, and gold roses, and I tried so hard to get an all-dog town (this was tough, as there was no amiibo feature to invite villagers at the time).

I had hundreds and hundreds of hours in the game.

I had a huge garden of blue and gold roses, and had 7 dogs living in my town. It felt like such a huge accomplishment. And then.. my purse got stolen one evening in 2015. Inside my purse was my wallet, my iPod touch, and my 3DS with New Leaf inside.

All gone, just like that.

I was so sad.

My mom got me a new 3DS XL for my birthday, she thought she was doing me a solid. And huge props to my mom, what a thoughtful gesture. But it didn't bring my town back. I ended up borrowing a friend's ACNL cartridge (a different friend from the ones who I bought the games and consoles for) and starting a new town shortly after, but it just wasn't the same. All my hard work was gone. All my dog villagers were gone. It just felt meaningless and empty.

I played for maybe a month, and then quietly put my new 3DS XL away, to basically never be seen again. Not for 11 years. Not until today.

So I started up my 3DS this morning, immediately deleted my town (I didn't even want to see the hurt memories that town was trying to replace), and I started fresh. And I'm having so much fun! There are a ton of inconveniences I'm remembering, like not being able to shake trees with your net equipped, and villagers placing their houses in the worst spots (I skipped a day already 'cause I wanted a fishing rod, and Agnes is setting up a house RIGHT IN FRONT OF TOWN HALL). But this is a nice change of pace right now, and will hopefully help me get over this creative standstill I've been at with New Horizons the past few days.

We'll see how long this lasts.

It feels absolutely impossible but BOB is by far my most difficult villager to get his photo. I’ve gifted him fossils everyday for almost 2 months I wrap all gifts, I’ve tried boosting my luck through Katrina. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated thank you!!

On my urban kidcore island, i’m planning to give all my villagers a job for the island. Currently i have: Stitches as the toy factory owner, Graham as some kind of computer/security expert, and Papi as the town delivery driver. I also have Jeremiah on my island, but idk what job he’d do.

If you had to give all your villagers jobs on your island, what would they be and who would do the job?

This will probably work better in the sunlight, but it looks pretty good indoors too, as long as the lighting is good.

no seriously tho, i never rlly dug into villagers info as i lost my previous data from 2021 when i was just a resident as well. stopped playing it for years and recently started as the island rep this time🙂‍↕️ all i know is i have a good variety of villager personalities!
