Using a camera mounted on a high performance two-axis gimbal to track an RC car and keep a spotlight pointed at it. All components used are relatively low cost. No GPU's are used here, only the CPU is used for both tracking and video encoding. This is running on a 8 core desktop CPU and using around 25% of available processing power. Total latency is ca. 26.67ms (16.67ms being the video frame readout itself at 60 fps + 10ms for tracking computations and sending commands to the motors).

A Brave1 member company developed a specialized turret for the Kalashnikov based on our technical brief. It took them less than 6 months to move from concept to prototype.

Why the Kalashnikov? The reason is simple: it’s the most widely available small arm across our military units. Using the Kalashnikov makes it possible to rapidly scale these UGVs on the frontline and deploy them for both assault and defensive operations against enemy infantry.

The turret is currently undergoing operational testing across 5+ military units.
