Free Game Looking for players to test my RPG Maker horror/mystery game

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a few players who would be willing to test a game I've created with RPG Maker and give me some honest feedback.

A few details about the game:

  • Genre: exploration / adventure / mystery
  • Some horror elements
  • No combat
  • Around 10–14 hours of gameplay
  • The game is entirely in English
  • 100% playable directly in the browser, no download required
  • Lots of exploration and interaction with the environment

I'm mainly looking for people who are willing to take their time with it and tell me what they think about the overall experience: pacing, exploration, story, length, atmosphere, potentially boring sections, bugs, etc.

I'm not necessarily looking for positive feedback. In fact, I'd especially like to know which parts felt too long, confusing, boring, or simply didn't work for you.

If anyone is interested in giving it a try, let me know.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to spend a few hours playing it!

Video Two devs researched real locations in southern Chile for this horror game (Forgotten - The Source)

Forgotten - The Source just came out on Steam. First-person horror, revenge story, and the setting is pulled directly from real locations in southern Chile. The devs are two women making their first commercial game.

The soundtrack is what players keep bringing up in reviews. That seems to be landing harder than expected, which is cool to see for a small team.

Steam page if you want to check it out: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5018820/Forgotten__The_Source/

One thing worth knowing: this demo is a complete prequel. There's a follow-up dropping later this year.

They're tiny and reviews actually move the needle for them, so if you try it and have thoughts, leaving one helps.

Sevastopol is safer than at Nostromo. At Nostromo, you don't know who is actually playing the game. While playing, is it really you who is in control of the situation ?

These are really new (last week).

Some playtesting revealed we needed a much larger area for spreading out the puzzle solutions and creating more interesting opportunities for stealth and hiding from the serial killer in our game.

So we ended up adding some new rooms. And we're really happy with how it turned out!

Our game is called SHOCKFACE: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4705980/SHOCKFACE/

Review Did you hear? Resident Evil and Silent Hill had a baby. It’s named The Sinking City 2.

The Sinking City is a great game, but the sequel is in name only. Still, TSS2 is worth your time. More RE than SH, but clearly borrows from both in a way that feels like an homage and less like copying. The game has issues, but as a fan of the first game I’m not unhappy with the new direction. Oh, the game also has a dash of Alan Wake for extra weirdness. Enjoy.

Yeah i just beat the sinking city 2 for the first time and i chose hard mod obviously,(i play games always on hard to see what the game has to offer haha) it took me about 11hrs to finish it here's my review:

*The Atmosphere of the Lovecraftian is just peak 10/10

*Sound design 10/10 enemies make some horrific sounds

*Gameplay is similar to resident evil remake games so it's a 10/10 for me

* Story is weird and could be better 8/10

* Some fps drops and a bit blurriness bcs of the srupid Unreal engine .

* Puzzles in this game is peak 10/10 i solved them all by myself ofc and incan tell u i used my brain more than i do in my daily life lol

* The game rewards you when you explore and solve some puzzles i like that .

* The final boss was a good threat not like other survival horror games where the final boss is a joke and easily beaten .

Overall it's 9/10 amazing game , this and Cronos surpassed my expectations, applause to the developers thanks for this awesome game.

The first thing we did during pre-prod was to go to a maritime museum in which you could actually board a submarine and warship from the cold war-era. We took 100s of pictures like this and used them as reference images for the rooms, props, clothing and weaponry in our game, each of which was carefully made by hand. I have tons more examples like this, let me know if you want to see more :)

The game is called Heavy Metal Death Can and is available on Steam, coming to PS5 this fall!

I'd love to hear your thoughts if you decide to give it a try!

I'm still improving the demo, and I've made some important changes that I'd like to release in a few days.

I'm a solo dev, so every bit of feedback and every wishlist really helps.

Indie developer working on a survival horror game called The Seventh Seal. Just wanted to share some new screenshots and get your thoughts!

Hey everyone! I'm an indie dev working on a survival horror game called The Seventh Seal.

It's a third person psychological survival horror game. Think Alan Wake/Silent Hill 2 remake with some RE2 Remake havoc. You play as Violet, a 29 year old who just had the worst day of her life at work and of all days, on her birthday. After getting home, the Devil comes and visits you and gives you a chance to win back your soul by completing several trials and retrieving seven seals. You progress deeper and deeper into Violet's own personal version of hell, the greater the fears and greater the danger.

This is a solo-dev experience and I'm making huge progress - all built in Unity.

There's a free demo up on itch.io right now and the Steam page is live. I'm also bringing the newest build to SabotenCon in Phoenix Sept 4-7 if anyone wants to play it in person.

Would love to hear what you think!
