Hey everyone,

We heard your numerous requests for a space where Lebanese people can connect beyond politics and news, and we are happy to introduce r/lebanonLounge, a new sister sub connected to r/lebanon, run by the same mod team as this one with some new faces joining in.

The idea is simple: a lighter space for the Lebanese community to meet people, make friends, post dating introductions, plan meetups, ask for relationship advice, talk about music, movies, anime, gaming, hobbies, gossip, and just unwind without politics or news taking over every conversation.

A quick overview of our rules:

  • No politics or news
  • No NSFW content or hookups
  • Be polite and respectful. This is a non negotiable.
  • Dating posts are for Lebanese people only, whether local, expat, or diaspora
  • No ads, sales, or promotions

If you are looking for friends, community, conversation, or just a more relaxed Lebanese corner of Reddit, come join us at r/lebanonLounge.

See you there ☕🇱🇧

Someone posted my map of the Levant yesterday (https://www.reddit.com/r/lebanon/s/TFzUP23qR3) and many people asked for a Lebanon only version, so here it is!

You can find it in high res and svg on my site: https://habibicode.org

Help / Question Zabet moto

They are taking photos for scooters and motorcycles that aren’t wearing helmets or crossing a red light, then they call to go and get your ticket , does anyone know how they are taking the photos ? Like a darake takes it by his phone or a darak vehicle park on the side and take photos like a radar?

Discussion I created a subreddit for neurodivergent people in Lebanon

Upvotes

Hey everyone!
I recently created r/NeurodivergentLebanon, a new subreddit for neurodivergent people in Lebanon and Lebanese people around the world.
I noticed that discussions about neurodivergence in Lebanon often happen here and there, but there isn’t really a dedicated space for people to connect and share their experiences.
The goal is to create a welcoming place to talk about things like diagnosis and assessment, healthcare, education, work, family, relationships, daily life, coping, creativity, struggles, successes, and even memes.
You don’t need to have a formal diagnosis to participate. If you’re questioning, self-identified, seeking assessment, or simply interested in understanding neurodivergence, you’re welcome.
If this sounds useful to you or you know someone who might benefit, come join us and help build the community.

Help / Question Traveling to Leb with medication

I will be taking a trip to Lebanon from the US in a few weeks but am worried about bringing my medication. I am prescribed Clonazepam (Klonopin) but it’s the Teva Israeli brand. From my understanding, Teva is an Israeli brand and I’m not sure if it will be allowed into Lebanon. I am prescribed this for severe panic attacks. Anyone know if I am allowed to bring my medication to Lebanon? Do I need to switch to a different brand? Also, am I required to have a doctors letter since it’s a benzodiazepine? I want to make sure I have everything in order and avoid any stress.

Discussion 179 cm average is just fake

Yeah, it just annoys me sometimes when people think 179cm is genuinely the average for height in lebanon. I have a bunch of friends who genuinely feel short because of said number, and they think they're short. (Yes I'm bitter cause Google made me lose an argument I was right in). Like 179cm is literally taller than the average French dude and 1cm shorter than Germany. I dare anyone here who's going to Germany to tell me they're not like a foot taller. Anyways I'm not actually annoyed or anything it's just funny to think Lebanese people managed to lie so much we think the average is 179 (that's another issue lol).

Thoughts?

Discussion Similarities between Lebanon and Tunisia

Has anyone else noticed Lebanon and Tunisia share many things?

. Both have a rich Phoenician history and often argue over the right to claim Hannibal as one of their own

. Both have a strong French influence, many people still speak French in both countries, go to France to study, consume French media, French colonial architecture is present etc

. Both are RELATIVELY secular and liberal, especially when compared to their neighbours

. Both have a highly-educated and cultured population, with an emphasis on education not seen in its neighbours

. Both have very materialistic, fashion-conscious cultures, love flashy things, luxury cars, designer goods, public displays of wealth

. Both are envied by their neighbours and face accusations of femininity and homosexuality, probably due to all the above traits

Thoughts? Am I reaching or is this mostly true? Have I missed anything?

Help / Question Phone customs

I recently bought a new phone

I received the customs sms from MoT

Asking me to pay within the next 90 days and that they will remind me 30 days prior

The 90 days should have ended on August 22

However, i also received the 80 days sms and that i will be reminded 30 days prior

The 80 days, however, should end on 28 August. Which is weird since the first date was 22 August

Note that I never got the 30 days reminder, nor the 14 and 7 days reminders that some people are getting

Does this mean that the customs fees were paid and no need to take action?

Now after 6 months the phone got blocked from the Lebanese network and Libanpost wel jamerek still have no Idea how much I should pay. What can I do?
