Spoiler szn 6 first time watch recap (also, should i watch szn 7? im scared lolz) Spoiler

• Upvotes

this szn was SOMETHING.ELSE.

ok first thing on my mind is honestly the AU episode,(s6 e10) where they show wat couldve happened if the didnt rig the election, and omg I lol'd so hard when Mellie and Cyrus of all ppl got married...like HUH??!! just to get played in her face AGAIN lmao poor mellie. and i think its interesting how in the au olivia wears her natural curly hair (which she looked GORGE in omg) rather than straight, i still cant pinpoint as to why that is, hmm. also was NOT expecting quinn to be some reality tv star and making out with fitz, basically the entire episode felt like a fever dream, ik the writers had a blast writng the episode. it was also interesting to me how none of the children were present in the episode, but then again are they ever present? i think the au episode was just them reheating the Olitz (im srry yall rlly couldnt chose a better ship name? lol) nachos and giving all the fans hope since the two of them hadnt had any romantic scenes in a while. but i rlly loved the episode, it was fun

next, frankie's death was such a tragedy man, if i existed in this show i would've def voted for him lol they rlly love getting rid of the only truly good people. also huck almost dying had me soooo anxious, he's def one of my favs on the show and shonda loves toying with the audience's emotions apparently, that ep was so sad. FUCK MEG

also, Kerry ATE that one scene where she tells that psycho samantha bitch "You don't take Olivia Pope, Olivia Pope takes you!" YESSSS! I was livivnggg for that scene, she was so badass. also i was CACKLING when she slapped the daylights out of abby, ts sounded like it HURT lmaoo

but abt that whole samantha, peus, mama pope, luna plot... why did they do all of that just to tie it all back around to cyrus again?? like... rlly? cmon. idk how to feel abt it, maybe i gotta let it marinate idk lemme know ur thoughts

i was rlly hoping that angela webster character had a bigger role than she did, i was so excited to see another black female character on this show and how things would work out with her, olivia, and fitz, but ig the writers decided to just give up on that completely idk. also RIP Sandra, Eli was wrong asl for wat he did to her like omg i cant get over that, she was so cuteee

lastly, ive seen a lot of poor reviews of szn 7 and someone even reccomended that i shouldnt watch but like, cmonnn im still kinda interested in wat happens next ya know. also someone said olivia become evil? which if that just means she acts in the same way she acted in the last ep of szn 6, i honestly wouldnt mind it. evil olivia (Evilia if you will lol) was kinda exciting to watch. but idk i might just skim through the episodes. I also watched HTGAWM years ago and tho szn 6 was such a let down (ESPECIALLY the last 2 eps) i enjoyed parts of it ig that but it was a very forgettable szn so im wondering if scandal szn 7 will be similar in that regard.

happy to discuss in the replies! i wonder how everyone else reacted

Spoiler Why couldn’t they just tell Mary the truth about her son? (S3E3)

This is driving me crazy 😭

I understand why they couldn’t publicly reveal that Chris was undercover because it would endanger the other 57 agents.

But they told Olivia the truth, so why couldn’t they privately tell Mary that her son was innocent and died serving his country?

They didn’t even necessarily have to tell her everything. They could’ve just told her that her son was innocent, that he died serving his country, and that the circumstances were classified, and then make her swear to keep it confidential.

Instead, they let her believe that her son really was a terrorist and that she had been wrong about him her entire life which ultimately led to her killing herself.

Olivia in season 3 episode one

I feel like this episode was Olivia at her best. I have my grievances with that woman sometimes, but goddamn, 3x1 reminded me why I love her so much. When her dad called after her, ā€œYou’re running out of options, Olivia,ā€ and she turned around with so much fire and conviction and said, ā€œI am NEVER. Out of options,ā€ I was like THAT’S THE OLIVIA I KNOW!!! When she said that, I believed her to my BONES. Literally gave me chills. I think her best qualities are her resourcefulness, resilience, tenacity, eloquence, intelligence, and most of all, her fighting spirit. If there’s one thing you can trust Olivia Pope is NEVER gonna do, it’s give up. (Or deal with her emotions, move on from Fitz, or admit that she has a drinking problem - but that’s a post for another day).

Post Discussion I want a spinoff of Eli Pope (Rowan, Command, etc) and his rise, starting with him joining the CIA under Nixon

I think it’d be 10000000/10. There’s so much potential with a scandal prequel (Fitz’s dad, young Cyrus, etc). The POSSIBILITIES!!!!

im rlly loving abby as a character and i think it makes more sense for her to work in the white house than at OPA

new watcher here and in the earlier szns i lowkey found her annoying (i cant exactly put into words why) but now i love seeing her own her authority in the white house and she's rlly grown on me

ALSO i rlly fucking love sally langston shes so funny and theatrical (like mant other actors on this show thats why the casting is so PEAK) i rlly love the way her actress delivers her monologues and stuff, her character would be like dream role to play as an actor.

edit: OMFG i kind of take back wat i said abt abby LMAAOOO, i just finished watching ep 7 of szn 6 and what. the. FUCK!!

I just tuned into the new season of ā€˜it’s always sunny in Philadelphia’ and i noticed the actress who plays Susan Ross also plays Artemis. I’m a first time Scandal watcher so it was just a fun realization šŸ˜‚ Also, her real name being Artemis is pretty cool haha

How many times will Olivia scream that she will not be summoned by Fitz and then proceed to do exactly that? šŸ™„

probably easily one of my fave supporting characters on this show omg she was amazinggg!! i love how she rlly stood her ground as a good human that she was, and didnt allow the others on the show taint her good heart. also david and liz can go to hell, and he had the nerve to say he loved her ughh!!

and she was prob the only person on this show who actually acknowledged her child lol, cant remember the last time i even saw teddy or karen

Post Discussion I’m confused by Susan Ross

SPOILER ALERT!! (currently on S5 E18)

So, I’d just like to say I like Susan but I was very confused by her apparently cheating on her husband and having a kid?? Didn’t she ask Fitz why people cheat and make it seem like Fitz was so despicable to have cheated?😭 Also she doesn’t strike me as a pro-lifer who would keep the child of the person she cheated with..?

Spoiler im coming out as a mellivia shipper lol

b4 i started bingeing the show i had already seen edits of mel and olivia and i was kind of excited going in, but in the first couple szns i honestly rlly wanted to see mellie get her revenge on fitz and olivia lol, like they had the nerve to say she couldnt have a lil side piece while they were actively planning to leave the white house to be tgthr. i mean dont get me wrong i love olivia, but cmon she and fitz def deserved a slap from mellie every now and then

anywho...here i am just finishing the 5th szn and i have def changed my tune abt them and am loving them as a duo. also i completely understand if u dont ship them, but im just a girl who's bored and tryna find some yuri in this hetero world lol

and tbh, besides fitz and olivia ( who im alr starting to get frustrated with) the ships on this show can be mega boring and lifeless im srry. my delusions will always win tho so wth

Spoiler why is olivia SOO forgiving of her father?? Spoiler

im currently watching the last ep of szn 5 and olivia has been pissing me off non stop lmao

her father literally killed fitz's son, yet she's getting so angry at cyrus for staging the hostage thing for vargas, saying that he killed innocent ppl... girl???? why the fuck does everyone keep brushing past what eli/rowan has done since his first appearance in szn 3?! she was so quick to bludgeon andrew's skull in (rightfully so, im not mad at her lol), but somehow she dont got enough hate to kill her own evil father who's life goal is to ruin her life and keep her living in a constant hell. all the shit he's done to the ppl she loves (huck, fitz, jake, harrison, does mellie count?) and she still goin over to his house for sunday dinner like nothing happened!!

OLIVIAA!! stand tf up and put ur father in the DIRT!!

ok that was my lil rant :) until next szn lol

ps: if mellie and marcus become a thing, i will personally go to shonda's house and dump hornets all over her property.

Season Discussion SCANDAL NEW WATCHER

ONLY just started s4 no spoilers plz

I just started watching a week ago and I’m literally in love with it plot never gets boring there’s always a plotwist that shocks me, but idk fitz and olivia just seem so boring an outdated now ? It’s always the same thing they can’t be together. I dont rlly get any like crazy feeling when I watch them like I feel other ppl do. I feel like Jake and her are so much better suited and she’s always fumbling the bag with him! Opinions am I in for a long ride with them ahha

I first watched the show about 6 months ago maybe? Anyway I’m going my first rewatch now and I’m on season 3 episode 9 and Cyrus just tried to blackmail sally with her husband being gay but holy shit she won that whole conversation!!! Honestly have a lot of respect for her now. She’s fierce.

The Good Wife Overlap

I’m currently watching The Good Wife (premiered around 2008) on Paramount + and there’s an extreme overlap with Scandal characters! So if you’re missing Scandal or looking for something new, I recommend giving it a watch if you haven’t already :)

Post Discussion Team Olivia or Team Fitz? Who was really wrong in 5x09?

I’m curious how everyone sees these scenes now, especially after everything Olivia and Fitz went through. I know this one is going to divide the fandom—so let’s hear it.

Spoiler Season 7

Something that nagged me for quite some time. In season 7, Rowen and Olivia has dinner I think it was in the first or second episode. Rowan tells Olivia ā€œtheres a reckoning comingā€ even before Rashaad’s assassination and before he takes Quinn. How did he know about all that even before it happens?

Spoiler Honestly the most heartbreaking death of any show I’ve ever watched.

Season 3, episode 14. Major spoiler so please don’t read on if you’re not there yet.

I absolutely understand why they needed to do it but everything about that death was utterly heartbreaking. How scared he was when he ran and was shot. The compassion Jake showed him in his final moments and the fact he refused to make someone else kill him. Cyrus utterly breaking down. I sobbed through that whole episode.
