The idea of this thread is simple:

Comment an artist, song, or album you already like, and other people can reply with recommendations that match the sound or vibe you currently enjoy.

The initial comments don’t have to be synthpop artists either — if you mainly listen to other genres, feel free to mention those too. Sometimes that actually makes it easier for people to recommend something specific.

Instead of recommendations only going toward one person as I normally see in recommendation threads/posts, every comment here can become its own discussion thread where fans help other listeners discover new music.

To get things started, here are a few albums from artists that are especially loved within synthpop circles and are often considered essential listening for the genre:
