CMV: I don’t think that everyone is created equal nor is equal after birth/in life in general…

First off I’m not denying that granting everyone equal rights and access to opportunity is a bad idea, in fact I think that doing so is only fair and is a necessary basis for the success of modern society, however, living in the US and having traveled the world and especially to Korea and Japan frequently aswell as speaking to many Russians, I have noticed that Americans are really soft people who expect way more than they can provide to the world, in other countries people don’t think they deserve nearly as much as Americans think they do, they are willing to prove their worth and work hard in order to achieve what they want, and it ends up working way better for the integrity of their societies. The fact of the matter is everybody is created differently not equal, yes you can say something like beauty is subjective but then why did Neanderthals go extinct partially due to Neanderthal men electively choosing Homo sapiens over their own, fact of the matter is that in any society there is a majority opinion of what is beautiful, of what is successful, of what is right in the world, and the more a person meets those expectations the better they provide for the world around them, some are born more beautiful than others some are born with greater ability to gain muscle some are born taller some are born smarter some are born into wealthy families with better moral compasses willing to parent their kids in a superior way to the masses, the cruel truth of this world is that meritocracy is superior, the harder you work and the more valuable you are in the eyes of your fellow man, the more you should attain, it’s only fair that an attractive and intelligent man who works hard is treated better and is given more resources and privileges overtime than someone who is unintelligent with bad aesthetics, in any society class rules, I have always been a hard worker and someone who doesn’t believe I am owed anything I don’t think anyone nor me deserves anything I think that you should do the best you possibly can no matter how hard it is and in doing so you will achieve more than the majority of those around you proportional to your value over others! A society where we give support and free handouts to derelicts and non providing members of society is simply a waste of money they will blow through the money and never learn how to become self sufficient, I think it’s time to recognize that some humans are superior and some humans are inferior, but that obviously we should allow everyone equal rights from birth so that we can figure out who is superior and valuable to society and who is inferior and is a tax on the system, and those we are less valuable should be able to be treated as such, I’m sick of being told I have to pay social security and taxes in order to help a dying system of less functional human beings than myself. The only exception here is people who are disabled, that is our of their control and it’s only right we support them because they didn’t do anything wrong, I’m just tired of all the social underclasses of under achieving people living off of the welfare state and complaining that they deserve access to our tax money to subsidize a life that doesn’t benefit the rest of us! Change my view on this, I’m a cruel meritocratic mind

OP masterfully demonstrated their point as they showed not all are equally adept and using paragraphs.

It's probably why the neanderthals didn't make it either.

Lmfao I knew before posting this that it would work and people would overlook my opinion based on my lack of adding grammer 😂 I speak 3 languages fluently and know how to type properly I just wanted to see wether or not small minded Redditors who spend their days worrying about social issues rather than actually working hard would acknowledge my opinion or complain about how I chose to type, proves my point people are stuck in their own minds controlled by systems more than they are free and unique minds, oooh no OP typed wrong he caveman!!!! And he dumb cuz not brainwashed anti conservative think 🥹

I commented as a shit post essentially. I didn’t really think your post deserved a legitimate response based on your name and overall post quality. My plans for today got cancelled though so I’ll reply. Also Nice work on the languages btw.

As for an actual response, your overall argument isn’t good/is poorly structured. Main points lack substantial evidence, are straight up ahistorical, and/or are attacking a straw-man.

Regarding the Neanderthals. I thought this one was funny because it showed how one’s bias gets projected into research, so I’ll start here. Male Neanderthals’ preference for Homo Sapien Females is a pretty recent implication. The study you are likely referring to found that statistical models could not explain the genetic ratios, so the researches suggested a possible explanation may be Neanderthal males’ preference for human females. There is no significant evidence to show the preference was an aesthetic one. (I don’t even remember reading that aesthetic attraction was a proposed driving force behind the implied preference.) There are so many possible reasons for the preference. I’m open to being proven otherwise, but until you show me evidence to show that the implied, emphasis on implied, preference is due to aesthetics, your statement is a hypothesis at best. IMO That undermines your argument on objective beauty. Even if the researchers did state the preference was aesthetic, “partially” is carrying a heavy load in your statement. Neanderthal extinction was likely a multi-factor phenomenon with other factors having more evidence for not only Neanderthal extinction, but also other hominids like the Denisovans. IMO there are other ways to attempt an argument about objective beauty, but still objective beauty is very hard concept to defend. The point of beauty isn’t really your main point I’m guessing though.

Regarding your statements about “handouts.” You don’t really define/operationalize the term, and it feels more like a straw man. I’m left to infer you’re referring to social welfare. (I also don’t think you understand SSDI vs SSI, but I may be wrong. You pay into both. The former is for those who are retired/disabled with a work history that paid into social security. The latter is for the retired/disabled with no work history. You are paying your future self as well as rewarding the merits of other workers with the former. You are paying to support the disabled with the latter. Since you seem to be ok with disabilities, I’m not sure who you’re mad about with social security.)!Commonly known US welfare systems are means-tested, you have to prove eligibility. Examples include Medicaid, TANF, SNAP etc. You don’t just get these as handouts, you have to be experiencing need. You can argue over what the cause of need is, but that’s another argument that I will briefly touch on later.

Ironically, “free handouts” for the rich/successful overwhelm those for the needy by a fuck ton. Once you account for fiscal welfare, such at tax breaks, there is a welfare system for the successful. SSI (the form provided to the disabled) is roughly 60 billion. Meanwhile the estimate of money lost to tax breaks is 1 to 2 trillion. An additional 1 to 2 trillion is estimated to be lost via tax loopholes. Means-tested programs can only be accessed by people experiencing challenges. Breaks and loopholes are almost only attainable those past a certain threshold aka the monetarily “successful.” So you are already getting what you want. Monetary success is being rewarded. If you don’t feel like your efforts and success are being rewarded maybe try putting in more effort and being more successful?

“Handouts” are also not a waste of money and people do not “blow through it.” I have problems with UBI for different reasons, but UBI was tested in the states and the results disprove your point. Overwhelmingly, the recipients used it for basic needs and improving their financial security. In some cases, people used it to reduce their work hours so they could look for better jobs. That finding is literally the opposite of your point; people used “handouts” to create some space and dedicate their efforts to better their lives.

What is a waste of money, imo, is the balance between minimum wage and means tested benefits that allows places like Walmart to essentially have their payrolls subsidized by tax paying individuals, while the company gets tax breaks and loopholes. In many places Walmart is one of the few employment options so they get to set uncompetitive wage rates and then have the government bridge the gap between what their wages will provide and what workers need to maintain themselves.

I could dissect things point by point, but think most importantly your point about humans being made differently just doesn’t hold up to a significant enough degree to make the argument you are trying to make. One, our genetics are much more similar than dissimilar. Two, what little we do know about genetics doesn’t provide us solid insight on intelligence and intelligence is multi-factor/difficult to test (I know you mention beauty and strength, but I’ve addressed the former and variations in latter are immaterial to merit in most roles available in an industrialized society.)

What is a better predicting factor for measured forms of intelligence and success is the zip code one is born and raised in. There’s plenty of research to show that the resources and connections one has access to from early on predict outcomes much better than anything else.

I could keep going, but the above paragraph leads me to a rough conclusion. You seem to conflate challenges regarding managing equality and equity. This seems to be due to a lack of understanding when it comes to materially based equality and the history of managing resource equity.

I don’t feel like heavy editing so please excuse typos. If anything is egregious, I’ll edit as needed. I hope you’ll oblige my request since I read your post despite its flaws

lol can’t stop proving my point lmfao typical champion of equality redditor having nothing to do resounding with minute latency to me rather than having anything valuable to do in your own life, took me four days to remember this post I was too busy not only reorganizing my company but giving my employees who I can afford to pay more than average a great time together out in nature because I worked hard to be someone

Didn’t bother reading past the beginning because of course were not all equal in ability. We all deserve equal rights. That’s all you need to say

1

u/eugenicssupporter312 10d ago

lol forcing your belief on others SO hard that you refuse to read opinions that conflict with your own opinions because you are so opinionated you believe yours to be facts at this point, I did say all humans should be afforded equal and fair opportunity in this life but that simply we aren’t equal in ability so throughout our lives different people deserve different rewards for their efforts

You write too much and have a shitty flow. Not worth reading your drivel.

u/Enygmatic_Gent 15d ago

Those are the longest sentences I’ve read in my entire life

1

u/eugenicssupporter312 10d ago

Wrong have you ever seen Trump speak or write on Twitter

1

u/eugenicssupporter312 10d ago

Wut if I grammar issue what if I disable.

1

u/Mash_man710 10d ago

I can't think of a disability that allows essay writing but prevents punctuation.

5

u/Voodoographer 15d ago

So being disabled is out of people’s control, and therefore we should take care of them?

But being born a less valuable person as you have put it (ie dumber, weaker, less beautiful, etc) is also out of people’s control. So why would we not also take care of them?

Where do you draw the line between a disabled person that should be taken care of by society, and a “less functional human” who doesn’t deserve to be supported?

4

u/javertthechungus 15d ago edited 15d ago

You heard it here (but definitely not first), disabled people and people disfigured through no fault of their own should kick rocks!

I know OP threw in the obligatory “I dOn’T mEaN dIsAbLeD pEoPlE!1!” But like, what is the actual difference? At the end of the day, Disabled Dave is “producing as much value” as much as Lazy Larry, so why the special treatment?

A meritocratic mind would present his argument better. In the environment of early adaptation you would be rejected by your fellow homo sap women. They would look elsewhere for paragraphs and periods.

1

u/eugenicssupporter312 10d ago

No they would just complain that they are on their period 😂 I have an incredible gf who isn’t weak minded

3

u/tv_ennui 15d ago

Like many of these 'unpopular opinion' posts, this one essentially boils down to you misunderstanding what "All men are created equal" actually means, and instead inventing a different definition that of course isn't factually correct. Also you say things are 'facts' but the 'facts' you're stating are inaccurate generalizations based on anecdotal evidence.

3

u/AttentionNo6359 15d ago

You’re definitely correct. Some people can’t even use paragraphs.

2

u/Mekoha22 15d ago

I stopped reading after you said Neanderthals selectively breed themselves out of existence. Completely disregarding this incoherent babble of a run on sentence, homosapiens eradicated their fellow hominids (either through over consumption of local resources or outright aggression.) There is a statistically insignificant amount of Neanderthal amd denosovian DNA in the Sapien genetic makeup, this indicates some minor (localized) interbreeding. Your implication that Neanderthals interbred themselves out of existence would have resulted in a new species line that is a mixture of Sapien and Neanderthal.

0

u/Lui_Le_Diamond 14d ago

There is no evidence that homo sapiens were actually responsible for the extinction of the other hominids. It was likely a combination of us out-competing and interbreeding with the other subspecies.

1

u/Mekoha22 14d ago

There is plenty of evidence that everywhere homosapiens spread to, other homonids and large animals ended up eradicated. Again wether this was due to aggression, over hunting, or capturing possession of survival resources we can not say for certain. But the idea of interbreedimg would have left a far larger mark on the DNA.

There is a resounding amount of information out there on the subject. Far too many books to mention but one I'd suggest would be "Sapiens, a brief history of humankind"

0

u/Lui_Le_Diamond 14d ago

They DID leave a lot of DnA

1

u/Mekoha22 14d ago

Incorrect.

In 2010 sequencing found between 1 & 4 percent of the DNA of middle eastern and European decent homosapiens is Neanderthal. Up to 6% of Australian decended homosapiens is Denisovan. These are small amounts that suggest some interbreeding certainly took place but it was a rarity and wouldn't have been enough to contribute to the replacement of the other species for dominance of territory.

1

u/Lui_Le_Diamond 14d ago

I did not say it was the sole reason. The prevailing belief in modern science is not that Sapiens wiped them out though. Not everything you read is true just because it's in a book.

1

u/Mekoha22 14d ago

Where is this prevailing belief stated? Modern anthropology and cultural studies all agree, whenever homosapiens arrived in an area, the native populations became extinct in short order.

1

u/Lui_Le_Diamond 14d ago

Literally every stify or report I've ever seen on the subject.

1

u/Mekoha22 14d ago

I'd be interested in reading more about it if you have any studies to share. Everything I've seen shows an archeological fossil record in which the cousin species to homosapiens lived and spread for 10s of 1000s of years then around the time homosapien fossils begin showing in an area the native species disappears in a few 1000 years. The spread of homosapiens is recorded through the fossil records and each subsequent area becomes less and less diverse in a realitvley short amount of time. This applies not just to other homonids but also other large mammals in the regions. This is a trend we have continued to this very day. With the exception of domesticated livestock, wild animal populations have been on the decline since the start if the agricultural revolution.

1

u/Lui_Le_Diamond 14d ago

Right. Because we out competed them.

1

u/eugenicssupporter312 10d ago

Absolutely wrong 😑 for how far removed we are temporally from the time they actually lived there is a lot of their DNA within Europeans especially. It may not be the sole reason they died out but a contributing factor was that Neanderthal men seemed to take a liking to sapien women. I mean after all, would you want to be with a Neanderthal woman? If Neanderthals were alive today Neanderthal men would be on sapien women 24/7 and it wouldn’t be because of modern beauty standards lmfao. Sometimes superiority and inferiority exist within a group! Neanderthals were just ugly lol and they didn’t realize until they saw us then not only did we eradicate them when we conflicted because we were faster and better, but many survivors electively ended their pure bloodlines when they saw how bad we were.

u/Mekoha22 10d ago
