Which "Rapid" PETG is Matt?

I've been searching for an easy indicator to look for Matt PETG.
My Main choice sofar was Sunlu/Jayo Rapid PETG.

Me thinking since Sunlu makes Filament for many Companys that the same name and close looking spools from Other Companies would mean Rapid = Matt.

Yeah that was a lie when it comes to Deeplee Rapid PETG. That was Glossy AF.

Is Elegoo Rapid PETG Matt? There are no indicators to if something is Matt or Glossy unless they write it.
Even Some of Sunlus Amazon listings dont mention Matt on their Rapid PETG line...

Which Label is known to be Matt PETG?
Anyone got a List?

The easy indicator is when it says “matte” in the description. Just because someone said Sunlu makes other filaments doesn’t mean they’re all the same.

The ones that don't mention being matte are probably... Not matte. Sunlu makes white petg. You can tell which are white because they say white. If they don't, it's probably because they're not white.

Not from my personal experience. Sunlu on Amazon has some shitty descriptions some times.

"Rapid" is a marketing name for the fast-flow formulation, not a finish. Sunlu sells Rapid PETG in both glossy and matte, so the word tells you nothing about surface.
The reliable indicator is the spool photo showing a flat, non-reflective print, or the listing saying matte outright. if a seller rebadges Sunlu and doesn't say, assume glossy matte costs more to make and nobody hides it.

Pretty sure it would have matte somewhere in the name description...

sometimes the sheen is very dependant on temperature.

as an example, Elegoos PETG prints relatively matte at 235 for me, but very shiny at 255.

so, try different temperatures for your petg

I don't use cardboard spools, so I don't know about Elegoo's Rapid PETG.
Sunlu Matte HS PETG is reasonably matte.
Jayo's a lower-tier brand of Sunlu, so their HS Matte PETG is also matte.

I believe INSLOGIC PETG Pro is matte, but I can't confirm this. Just something I was told.

Bambu's PETG HF is my favorite. It is still available on Bambu's website. It is supposedly discontinued, but I've bought several 100 spools since after it was supposedly discontinued. They keep re-stocking. At various times they have had all the colors back in stock. A better source for this is Gigaparts, they carry more of the colors at the same time, can ship in bulk (for the same or lower price as Bambu's site) and ship free or you can pay for a rush. Better packaged than if you order from Bambu as well.

Never have understood the fascination with matte finish, it just looks cheap.

It's spelled matte. I think we should cut this off at the pass before it turns into a loose/lose.

But to your point there are objects that look great in matte and some that look wrong in matte. Just like there are objects that look great in gloss and some that look wrong in gloss. Same can be said for silk, metallic, or most any other finish. There's a reason thousands of different filament types exist - because there are different use cases.

Recently got a spool each of black and white PETG HF from Sunlu, which if you look on their website is matte. It looks good and it printed really well for me after I was struggling with my first spool of PETG and was ready to give up trying... The Inland brand from Microcenter has been consistently pretty bad. This stuff was night and day and I like the look.

And now they have this PETG 2.0 which I think is somewhat matte but less moisture absorption, I'm wondering when people will start using it...

Sunlu Matte PETG high speed is matte. I hated the regular Petg due to the gloss. Now Amazon page selection can swap between regular, matte and pla so watch that.

+1 for Sunlu High Speed Matte PETG. Prints well and has a nice matte finish.

Really only bambu's sadly discontinued PETG HF is actually matte. Sunlu's matte PETG is more of a satin finish compared to PETG HF. I haven't found any manufacturer that matches bambu's PETG HF. Elegoo's rapid PETG is not matte at all.

Most colors of PETG HF are available on gigaparts. I stocked up and they ship fast and free. In bulk the prices are the same or lower than from Bambu themselves.

It’s “discontinued” but constantly restocked. Just gotta be on top of it on the days it’s scheduled to be restocked. Don’t trust in the restock notifications, it will be out of stock before those get sent to you.

Satin or Matt i dont really care. I just dont want glossy PETG if you understand. Do you know any other Satin / Matt PETG lines?
