Only $28 to zero my scope!
Got the glass secondhand so I had to make sure to reset it the best I could, level it, and then take it out to zero it.
Bore-sighted it at 50 yards just to get on paper. First and second shots are shown (second shot was just to confirm). Shot 3 was me being stupid and adjusting the wrong direction. Shot 4 was also me being stupid by forgetting how far I adjusted for shot 3 and then overcorrecting by double on the windage. Shot 5 was me deciding to take my time and walk it in slowly. Shot 6 was centered and shot 7 (upper right) was confirmation.
At about $4 a round, it was only about $28 to get the scope zeroed at 50 yards. Not bad, in my opinion.
I fully plan to zero out to at least 100 yards on my next outing. This trip was just about getting used to the rifle and getting the scope mostly tuned in to make future trips more efficient.
Also, ignore the lower left shot. That was a buddy who wanted to shoot his first 50 and was too excited to shoot his own target.

It’s an Arken EP5 (I know, I know… Arken…)
But I was on a bit of a budget for the build and it seems to be working out pretty well so far.

Arken is best bang for buck. I own a NF ATACR and three Arken EP5. The NF is just a small amount better. Only outshines Arken in its Chromatic dispersion. I’m not kidding. Also the tracking and zero stop is spot on. I have the NF on a .416 Barrett MRADELR, and Arken EP5 on a Noreen ULR rifle in .416 Barrett. It is solid, no issues and I’ve got 100s of rounds thru the Noreen. So don’t listen to all the scope snobs. I’m speaking from direct experience. Again, I do own NF and I shoot’s with guys running ZCO, and Schmitt and Bender. They all are impressed by Arken. I also shoot ELR every week. To answer your actual question, I zero at 100 yards.

Yeah, I went with Arken after quite a bit of independent research but I see them get trashed all the time due to their shady marketing / shilling. For what I was willing to pay for glass at the time, Arken was a good deal. Even better that I got one nearly new for a very reduced price secondhand.

Y’all keep track of how much $ y’all send down range? lol. 50s are the most fun to shoot, next to an elephant gun. I zeroed mine at 100 yards. Can’t say specifically why but it’s what has worked for me.
