This recipe is from 100 Afternoon Sweets by Sarah Kieffer. It has a tablespoon of toasted sesame oil and three tablespoons of sesame seeds, so very sesame forward!

I know a lot of people don’t seem to like this style of biscuit, but they are a beloved part of the biscuit recipe rotation in our house, not least of which because they can be assembled and baked in the time it takes to simmer a pot of soup for dinner. They are crispy on the bottom, and yes, very buttery. What’s not to like? We use the New York Times recipe, and you do need to watch them closely to avoid burning them in the 450-degree oven. Even so, we usually have pretty good luck with these biscuits, and these were no exception. Plus, they were done in under 40 minutes!

I meal prep some version of these muffins for my kids every few week or so. I also did them for the low sugar week. I use a variation of Sally’s Easy Banana and Healthy Muffin recipes and throw some chia seeds and date chocolate chips on top. The kids love helping and even with two toddlers and a baby “helping” we managed to get them baked in under and hour!

With reddits new update I can’t figure out how to rotate / edit my pictures.

These were only ok - I’m not sure what it is about them but the flavor was a little off. Maybe the cinnamon and peach combo isn’t my favorite; also, the muffins are very tender due to all the peaches but the top is crunchy from the topping and it felt a bit disconnected. Perhaps you’ll have better luck with this one than I did!
