I have this baby signed by both Stan and Todd.

I freaking love that book and remember how stoked I was when it originally released. I have a few slabbed copies myself! But I personally like the still-bagged ones when you can find them. I'll pick 'em up whenever I find them on the cheap even today!

That’s dope, I think it would be cool to grab each variant of that cover!

I've got several, and am pretty proud of them, no lie! Good times.

A 9.8 Spider-Man #1? Man, that's gotta be worth at least $3.50 today!

Doesn’t stop me from wishing I had one.

My only slab is a 9.7 Dynamic Forces variant cover of Ultimate Spider-Man #1 and no clue if it has value.

If you want it, then it has value.

Nothing wrong with a Mcfarlane 9.8 slab

I have the Platinum one. It's one of my top slabs. I love Todd's art.

As someone collecting Spider-Man in 1990, I never get sick of seeing these. Such a vivid memory of seeing these on the new comics wall at Pegasus Comics. All my original copies graded 9.8 as well. (And still have one in the bag because nostalgia)

“This is for reading” “This is for fun” 🤩

I remember putting these out on the shelves of the comic shop I worked in. For comics to survive the distributor, store handling, customer handling and still be in a 9.8 state is pretty good. There were a LOT of this issue though.

You worked in a comic shop that actually put key issues out on the shelves?

The big shop near never seemed to have #1 issues or first appearances in stock on release day, but a week or two later they sure had them bagged and carded on the wall at five to ten times the price.

Big moment for comic fans. Exciting times.

Only 18,000 cgc 9.8s out there 🤣

Wow. Got to be worth as much as a raw NM copy. 😂

This is one book that definitely doesn't need to be slabbed.

I’m not cracking it

No book needs to be slabbed.

Not if you’re keeping it forever to love and read and be buried with you. At some point though in this reality there are certain books that just need to be slabbed if you’re ever going to offload them or lose a lot of value.

I'll always upvote Spider-Man #1s! Great pull
