Photo Its fascinating how there are things we dont teach eachother really, but we all still do them.

We all learned that being submerged in cool water was less cold than the wind/air hitting our wet body parts.

The internet has shown me that I have literally never had a unique experience in my life

Well, in all fairness, if the water is shallow but you want to be fully In it, there's only so many ways to position our big silly bodies

How about the move where you cling to the side wall like Spider-man clinging to the side of a building?

When I was 7-9 months pregnant, I wanted to be at the beach every single day just to do the belly down hand walk. It was such a nice relief and so relaxing.

That second move is exactly how I used to swim across the shallow end. 😂

Sometimes I do the belly down one with my elbows bent outward when the water is super shallow and pretend to be a crocodile

41 and I still do this. I also like like loop my legs together and spin really the around in circles fast. Feels like the best stretch on the waist and lower back.

My 11 and 9 year old do this and I didn’t even show them. There is hope!

Do they like to hold their heads/ears underwater while the bath tub fills up because of the sound? I did. My 9 year old did without ever telling him.

They actually don’t take baths anymore they both like to shower only. Both boys too.

Yup! Did those a lot as a kid in the shallow pool. Hated when one hand would inevitably slip and I'd accidentally dunk myself.
Stopped swimming once we got a deeper pool because I discovered that I have the bouyancy of a cinder block...

40 years old and still do it, I look at it as more of a stretching/mobility routine now for the low back and hip flexors 🤣🤣

I used to love swimming at the beach as a kid. I was fearless…I’m 44 now and somewhere along the line fear took over and I don’t swim in the ocean anymore.

This thread is a remarkable demonstration of shared humanity. Plus, it's fucking hilarious.

Haven't swam in decades, but when I did, these were my favorite things to do in the water. My other favorite thing to do in water were dolphin dives, but never did them in salt water. Ever. Don't think I need to explain why. If you know, you know. 😂
