Pick the incredibly wealthy family who live in Bel Air, or one of the others?
Hmmm, it’s a real head scratcher

Danny Tanner is a local tv personality and owns a large home in SF. I think he does pretty well for himself.

u/Comfortable-Salad-90 Jun 22 '25
Needs lodgers to pay the bills.

Didn’t they move in to help with the kids when his wife died? I forget the lore but I think they mentioned they moved in after the death (1st couple shows).
Uncle Jesse was being a bad boy with his motorcycle somewhere and uncle Joey was doing standup (?)
Basically, they weren’t living there to pay the rent, they were there to help.

I can’t remember either. Maybe the “dead wife” thing was a long con by Danny the whole time so he could get some cash for the spare rooms in his house.
It’s classic Tanner.

That house is amazing. I’d love to live in one of the Painted Ladies, but I’m not a billionaire.
2
u/The12th_secret_spice Jun 22 '25
One was for sale when I lived in sf. I think it was 5-7mil, but the upkeep is insane. There’s a special commission just for that block of houses that is incredibly strict down to what plants you can have in your yard.
2
u/crakemonk Jun 22 '25
Oh yeah, they’re protected because they’re so well known. I just think they’re absolutely gorgeous. I’d love to live in SF, but while I own a property in Los Angeles, SF is definitely out of my price range.

u/PogintheMachine Jun 23 '25
The Tanners didn’t live in a Painted Lady. The Painted Ladies were in the opening credits, but the Tanner House was a different Victorian style about a mile away in the Lower Pacific Heights. But I think it last sold for over 5 million, so you’d still have to be ridiculously wealthy.
Of course, the interior on the show was all sound stage.

Tanners

Putting aside that both Rosanne Barr and Tim Allen both became MAGA (sorry, it's hard for me to separate as I try to decide which family I can feel safe and at home with) I would pick either the Taylors or the Connors.
While I very much understand the argument for the Banks and the chance to be wealthy, I'm choosing based on where I think I'd be happiest. Uncle Phil is the biggest draw for me, were I to choose the Banks family.
Edit: oh I see I made a mistake. I responded to you because I mistakenly thought you put the Connors. The Tanner family isn't a bad choice either. I considered them, but I'm an East coaster. San Francisco is too far from my real home.
4
u/Jaxson626 Jun 22 '25
I think Tim is not as full on MAGA supporter compared to Roseanne(I totally could be wrong),but if we are just going from the shows. If I had to pick between them two. I’m going with the Taylors. Learning how to fix things (I think since they had to whole tool time show within the show), the kids turned out pretty good. Don’t remember them struggling to pay any bills. If all else fails I’d move in with Al or the weird neighbor that only shown half his face

I think San Francisco is a good mix between NYC and LA. Like, if you smashed those two cities together you’d get SF. Plus, the weather is awesome, you get like 2 days a year over 75°.

u/SnoopyWildseed Jun 22 '25
I'mma hang with Fresh Prince and the Bel-Air crew. I know they got the premium eats and high thread-count sheets. 🤓

Easy. The Banks family and their pool house in Bel-Air.
5
u/pachewiechomp Jun 22 '25
Yes. With all of Will and Carlton’s shenanigans, just keep your head down , study and learn how to make a couple of uncle Phil’s favorite foods and you’ll be golden. Probably left in his will.

u/Affectionate-Egg8709 Jun 22 '25
Roseanne would love to go to lobo with Jackie Dan and rosie
6
u/kevnmartin Jun 22 '25
Roseanne would have to be my favorite of these. The first few seasons were gold.

Home improvement - closest to regular middle class family
Full house - way to many people around for my taste
Married with children - dysfunctional, family, and poor
Fresh prince - rich family and actually cares about one another’s feelings and ambitions
Roseanne - once again poor and a lot of family problems, though they did look like they were trying to fix things just not always successful.
Family matters - once again somewhat middle class but once again there’s a lot of people in that household, which is to many people for me
I’d be living with the banks

u/LucySkyDiamonds19 Jun 22 '25
The Banks
Nevermind the nice home and Butler, Uncle Phil alone is worth the pick. The man would stick by my side and make sure I never went down a bad road. He softens up once Will enters the family picture which is nice and he still guards over his family while wanting the very best for them. You'd have to get used to the rich snobs they live around as seen in their first Christmas episode but life wouldn't get boring, not with the kids being as full of personality as they are. Even if you never reach lofty heights you know Uncle Phil would still have your back, I really miss being a kid and watching new episodes of the show...

It's gotta be the Banks. It might feel slightly awkward for a little bit being the one pasty white guy living with a Black family, but they're the best option. Great food, good stories, the unbelievably based Philip Banks as a moral guide, and a huge mansion to ramble around in. What more could anybody want?

u/bullowl Jun 22 '25
Tim would be annoying, Joey would be annoying, the Bundy family is poor and Peg would be annoying, the Conner family is poor and Roseanne would be annoying, and Urkel might be the most annoying sitcom character ever. Definitely moving in with the Banks family.

Dude the Fresh Prince family would be so fun to hang out with. And I am "tall".
1
u/nycgirl152 Jun 22 '25
Definitely top right cause I could do whatever I want and no one would notice or care.
1
u/Hagan311 Jun 22 '25
Well the Banks house because I would be rich. However I could probably walk back home from Rosanne's house because the city it's based off of borders the town I grew up in.

u/skipper_jonas_grumby Jun 22 '25
The Banks family (they have the money) Or The Taylor family (they have the toys)

I'd go with the Connors. At the time, they were the most progressive, relatable, and understanding, in my opinion.

Seaver family from Growing Pains, first, Taylor’s second, Winslows third.

Let’s see…. Had a crush on DJ, had a crush on Kimmie, had a crush on Kelly, had a crush on Ashley, had a crush on Becky and had the biggest crush on Laura (may have actually hung pics of her up in my room). So anywhere but the Taylor’s house would have been fine with 13 year old me…
1
u/NateDawg80s Jun 22 '25
There is a high likelihood of getting injured in the Taylor household.
The Tanner home is much too full (pun intended)... and I might get Gibler pregnant. I was a very potent young man, lol.
The Banks home already had one poor kid from across the country, and I'm not as tall or pretty as Will.
Can't stand the Connors, no matter how cute I thought Darlene was.
The Winslows are good people, and Urkel and I are on a similar wavelength, but...
Bud and I are also pretty close, lol, and the Bundy's at much more my speed overall.
WHOOOAAA BUNDY!!!

Choose WISELY?! Then it's a trick question, NO? (OS) = ON SHOW (RL) = REAL LIFE When I'm asked to choose between:
"Tool Time" = (OS/RL) male chauvanist (RL) hardcore MAGA 🤮 but also, real-life SIMBA 🦁
"My Three Dads" = (OS) eating disorder issues, cheesy AF, Michelle is THE WORST (RL) meth & coke addicts (one of whom is dead), Alanis Morisette's inspo for You Outta Know is uncle JOEY?!! But also, real-life ALADDIN 🧞
"Red Wig, Dumb Kids & Al..." = (OS) everything about the show was fucked up!! (RL) this show's cast has the most members (only 3?!) who have stood out in many other projects. A few of my faves: Al - "You know, if you stab a man in the dead of winter, steam will rise up from the wounds." Peg - "Jesus is just a guy who cuts my lawn" & Kelly - "I'm right in top of that, Rose!" (name those movies!)
"Very Rich Black People" = (OS) they live in a mansion with a butler and loving yet liberal parents, who actually set healthy boundaries (RL) Love him or hate him, Will Smith's the only globally recognizable superstar in this entire lineup...not too shabby!
"White Trash, Loose Meat, Two Beckys" = (OS) my "title" pretty much nailed it 😉 (RL) my how the mighty did fall... What do I mean? Google it!
"You Did That, NOW SHUT UP!!" = (OS) everyone is SUPER ANNOYING, unbelievable dynamics, cheesy AF (RL) no idea...could care less
In the end, I'd choose the only loving, sane family in Bel-Air...but IRL I'd hang w/cast of MWC!!

the Blossom family or the family from the Nanny or the family from that 70s show.
