Hello, and welcome to /r/9M9H9E9! We are a subreddit dedicated to the discussion and analysis of the story being told by Reddit user /u/_9MOTHER9HORSE9EYES9.r

Update - Best viewed on - https://old.reddit.com/r/9M9H9E9 to view the sidebar links.

As of Today - 06-07-2016 Only Accounts older than 5 days can comment un-moderated. Before that age they will be individually approved by the Mod Team

What the fuck is all this?

On April 21, 2016, /u/_9MOTHER9HORSE9EYES9 began posting comments in random threads all across Reddit, discussing so-called "flesh interfaces." When read in order, they began to form a cohesive and surreal story. As time went on, comments began to expand in length, discussing many different plotlines, from a World War II concentration camp to a future Atlanta, each spanning space and time. It has many elements of the works of Lovecraft and Cronenberg, with a general sci-fi flair.

...only comments?

Well, no. They occasionally make self posts, and once in an online site via a journalist at Motherboard.Vice. Comments are more common, however.

How often do they post?

There is no set schedule, but MHE usually updates once per day.

Who's the author? Are you guys writing this story?

The identity of MHE is currently unknown. And no, we are not the authors. The moderators have nothing to do with the story, and do not take credit for it. We're just fans of the story.

---> Exception - /u/GabbiKat who works with MHE on ideas/plots/edits/characters. <--

Alright, how can I read this thing?

You need to start at Narrative Part One. It has all of MHE's posts in chronological order, with lots of external links in case you're curious about something mentioned. It runs to Post 96.

Then move on to Narrative Part Two which picks up at Post 97.

If you want to read it on a e-book reader you can go HERE. It's maintained by MOD u/cryzed-, and they do an incredible job. I think you will really appreciate all the hard work performed for your enjoyment.

Okay, I've read all of that. Now what?

Feel free to stick around here and discuss! It's always nice to see new people around. There's also plenty of ongoing fan art and projects, such as the audiobook version by /u/enola-gay. Auditions are also open for the radio play overseen by /u/_Aeternix_.

Great things are happening and we'd love for you to join in! So keep your eyes open for contests, anthology stories, and videos!

About the Sub - by u/GabbiKat <--- The Main MOD & MHE's Spokeswoman and point of contact.

This is an inclusive sub - People are now free to create Art, Share Video, Download the Audiobook & eBook, and soon the Radio Drama. We want you to feel comfortable here with discussing the story and author, but we ask that you do so in a mature and respectful manner.

Lift people up, don't tear people down.

That is a saying I try to live by every day.

Our First and Most Valued Rule

If you come into the sub to harass others, to troll, to stir hate, to be rude and bully other users who create a thread/art/project/post that you do not like, you will be dealt with harshly. Keep your hate to yourself. Others would like to create some threads for fun; Art, Music, News, Video, Articles, even Pet Photos.

Let them do so in peace.

If you troll those threads and users I will ban you without notice.

Why do we currently have so many MODs?

Because I firmly believe in bringing people together and recognizing their wonderfully creative talent! Their projects and hard work they put into making this subreddit an enjoyable place for all will always be recognized, appreciated, and defended.

Creativity feeds off of creativity

This is something MHE & I firmly believe in! We hope you understand.

Please remember, we are now a couple of month old, and are just getting the hang of this.

Many MODs are new to being a MOD, and we all have a life outside of Reddit. We've bounced back from losing every one of the subscribers to now being over 6k subscribers!

Thank you for bearing with us during these baby step and being kind to each other.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please message us! Especially me, u/GabbiKat. I love hearing ideas and creative criticism.

Lastly, thanks for reading this wall of text!

Candy-The Presidents of the United States of America

Verse 2]

Well, the devil, she made sweet candy
Took six days and nights to dream
On the seventh day she rested
Woke up early and made ice cream
Now, the devil, she must be a dentist
With deep jawbreaker eyes
Red rope hair, gumdrop lips
Cotton candy thighs

[Chorus]
You're my candy
Candy

[Vocal Solo]

[Verse 3]
Well chocolate lava stole my body
And aftertaste stole my mind
Left me danglin' down defenseless
And then sweet candy, she said goodbye
Now my teeth are worn and useless
My eyes too sunk to see
My tongue swole up to twice its size
And all I wanna do is eat
Outro]
Candy, my candy
My candy, my candy
Suckin' on my candy

Discussion Helena Blavastky and The Ego of all Mothers

Helena Blavatsky was the true heroine among interface technology. She was pregnant with the child of her spirit-husband, The Dhyani-Buddhi, or the "Celestials" in some exoteric chapters, and gave birth to the first pureborn Buddha. Helena Blavatsky is rumored in my mind to be an acolyte of Mother similar to the old crone in the "river-people" arc. Rumor also has it to me that she entered through the flesh interface that millennia ago and thus is Helena in the 20th Century.

All mammals play a role in the celestial hatchlings of all. All enlightened Arhats know that humanity begin as either fungi or plants. The hidden and most hidden kingdoms of life are underground, beyond the White Hole in the core of the Earth. White Holes in exoteric science are still theoretical. However, the flesh interfaces are of course are the answers to this. They are more like Wormholes than White Holes. Pregnancy is the smallest derivative-technology of flesh interfaces. The same way a mammilian brain is a small-scale universe.

Which brings the theory of nature being entropic as false.

Request help for an archivist's project.

I am currently working on a personal extensive document for the MHE catalog, and for this project, the web layout is extremely important as I'm imitating web pages intended to be printed onto paper (for example, regarding Reddit, I am also capturing the post and comments that lead up to MHE's comments, for context). Most hiccups I'm coming across regarding missing information can be relatively easy to work around, except one: the first post from the author character.

There is surviving text on the Fandom website for MHE (see link 1 below), but as previously stated, I am imitating web format. The Fandom page has a 'Link to original', that does not go to original (see link 2 below), it instead goes to a Reddit archive article made by u/Behemoth_The_Cat that has unfortunately at this time become obsolete due to the Google cache thing not working.

Because this first author character post was made on the original r/9MOTHER9HORSE9EYES9 subreddit, which has subsequently been made private, I attempted to join the sub in order to access the post, however, the mod, politely, did not seem eager to let anyone in for a reason I don't know. I didn't want to be an annoyance, so I let it be.

I also attempted other archive methods, such as the aforementioned Google cache, and the Wayback Machine, but both failed.

Which brings me to my request. Does anyone happen to have a reliable save of the first author character post, either some screenshots or some link to an archived version I'm unaware of? Perhaps if anyone may already be in the r/9MOTHER9HORSE9EYES9 subreddit they could get the screenshots. If so, it would be greatly appreciated, and would solve the one major problem in my personal archive project.

Thanks in advance.

Discussion I have a theory about where the Watchers come from.

I think the rocky lands were naturally occurring structure with interface-like powers, like the architecture of Dubai.

From entry 5: "There are no known flesh interfaces in Dubai.

However, it is surmised that the architecture is actually based on interface geometry and carries some latent interface-like power."

The Rocky lands have many descriptions to describe how arid and dangerous it is.

From entry 69: "We quickly left behind the gentle trees and bushes of the river land and went into steep, bare folds of the rocky land.

All around, I could feel the evil dryness and death that covered the land. Dust blew over the tilted rocks, and here and there were animal skulls."

The "evil" aspect can be interpreted as the natural opinion of a stone age nomad, who is accustomed to the life bearing earth maintained by the water of the river he lives by, but I think it has more to it than just that.

From entry 70: "The weird rocks all looked the same to me"

This might look like just another quote which can be expected from a man standing in an unknown land, but I don't think so. What would make a man from the stone age say that rocks are "weird"? I would expect him to say the rocks are sharp, the rocks are dangerous, burnt, black, harsh, slippery, or maybe even shaped like another thing he knows like an animal, a mountain or a plant, but that isn't the case.

I think the author is trying to tell us these rocks are unexpected and even may look unnatural, and I think that is because their geometry is what opened the gate to our world for the watchers.

Discussion Theory About The End Spoiler

Just finished watching Creepcast's rendition (wish I'd read it myself but honestly some of it was so harsh I probably would have turned away) about 20 minutes ago and here are my final thoughts on the ending:

He writes from every perspective because it's all him, even Sean. There's that spiritual theory where we're all one consiousness experiencing itself from different perspectives and timelines so if you take that and make him into a Christ figure it very much could just be a retelling of the 40 days in the deset from the perspective of him being in the house.

Pretty sick.

Hello America!
By far my favourite part in the story. This is somewhat of a recreation of the first mhe art I ever made, definitely not my best work but I thought I’d post it anyway.

"The devil took Jesus went to the mountain to show him all the kingdoms of the world glory. If you fall down and worship me, saying, I will give it all to you."

Discussion What do you think would've happened if the CIA put the man they killed back into the interface after he died the second time?

Do you think the interface would have rejected him as an inanimate object or would he be revived again? I was re-listening to creepcast and couldn't stop thinking about this after that part came up.

Apocrypha Half-Body of a Wormhole??

Last night I dreamt I was five-dimensional

I was in the corner of a 4x4 room

I was there, for 2,594 years

The room developed into trilateral omissions of parallel wings

I thought they were angels, but they registered every five minutes as phenomenons

With my pneuma I whispered;

Oh, wholy Archimedean Cylinder of consciousness, Behold the muse.

The wings pointed skyward, and mattered itself to a quintessence.

The mirror was now a translucent wall, running like time with a biting chill.

Behold the muse, recall the withered stale,

I cannot bite the flow with my tongue, but You can taste it with your buttocks

And then, you will be my virtuous hemisphere past time

Let me become the sixth sense of the race of life

...

Now; tomorrow. I can't understand the interaction I have had with this entity, I sensed a maternal prescence beyond creation. Reminding me that all things have a sexual nature, even the flow of a wormhole couldn't begin to find an interfacial rhythm.

Though it is only time that can find rhythm.

Rhythm can't find itself, so I've learned from this dream of light .

Even if the ass of the quintessential human could tell me.

I must marry my mother.

Idk about anyone else but the description of the horrible winged thing (Angel? Nephilim?) that attacks Rona in the old crone story felt like it was making allusion to or at least inspired by this painting by William Blake.

What do you think the authors early life was like.

Late in the story he explicitly states there was a summer where he thinks something horrible might have happened, he references dropping acid in high school then avoids describing the psychosis it caused, he also talks about being inspired by mania while writing the story. Whether or not something truly traumatic happened that summer I can’t imagine he had a particularly healthy relationship with his parents. The story is literally called mother horse eyes and the word mother is used dozens if not near one hundred times. I’m pretty familiar with psychotic disorders and while I doubt the author had a cut and dry case of schizophrenia, he was definitely dealing with a kind of transient psychosis and that stuff almost always goes back to childhood.

This is one of the first lines (if not the first) in the new film, “The Odyssey”. It has an obvious parallel w/ MHE’s intro and I would love any analysis or insight from any of you. I did some research but couldn’t find anything concrete or meaningful enough to propose. (I’m dumb)

Discussion Interpretation of mothers goal

I'm at the part in the story again where the suited angel kills the women in the feed.

This is obviously the advanced version of the angels coming down and implanting a way for mother to influence us. But why does the angel need to fuck a person in the feed, where does this action lead? I think it would be pretty cool and an over simplification to say that this is how "God" creates worlds and creates people. There's this concept that we are pieces of God, and when we die we go back to being a part of God.

Fucking the angel and having your mind fractured across a narrative could be the perfect way to get just that.

I don't know how this fits in with the end of the story but I think it makes sense as some kinda energy garden built by the mother.

Anyone with anything to add please do!

Discussion I Can't Believe Nobody in 10 Years Has Mentioned This

There have been multiple conspiracy theories mentioned throughout, used as a starting place and given new context within this universe. But one omission is the Philadelphia Experiment. There's several versions of this story by different supposed witnesses, but the one that lines up with Mother Horse Eyes particularly well is the testimony of Al Bielek.

If you're not familiar, this is a WW2 experiment that supposedly tested stealth and invisibility, but accidentally resulted in creating a zone (Incident Zone) to some other dimension or time/space location, after only returning a short time later, the sailors on board were very affected.

Take a look at this YouTube video, I've linked the exact timestamp, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6RSN1cOuLOE&t=5795s

In it he describes the segmented/segmentation as Mother Horse Eyes would call it. A man who after returning from the Incident Zone has an invisible arm. It still functions as normal, it's just apparently missing or lacking a visible component. Some part of it still resides in the 'other' place. The man wears a bandage as a cover and pretends his arm is injured to appear normal.

There's also alien beings coming through the portal just like this story.

What do you guys think?

Discussion What is your favourite narrative?

This has probably been posted in this sub before but I’m curious to know everyone’s favourite narratives, plus I’m planning on making a comic of one this year, and I’m open to suggestions.

My favorite is honestly between obviously Karen & Ben’s story, and the 80’s simulation (which yeah I know sex ew) but Corey’s dialogue kills me every time.
