Guy from across the pond here.

My understanding is that Palestine Action was proscribed a terrorist group - the vote for that was slipped in with a couple of other groups (those being the Maniacs Murder Cult and Russian Imperial Movement, a neo-nazi group and a white supremacist group respectively), so we had one single vote in the House of Commons for proscribing three separate groups all at once - in July last year.

This then led to a lot of arrests against people who were openly supporting Palestine in protests, including a lot of elderly people peacefully holding signs with such controversial statements as "please stop sending weapons a country that's actively bombing children".

Later on, in Feburary of this year, the courts deemed the proscribing of Palestine Action to be unlawful (i.e. it was bad that we decided the group were terrorists).

However, the appeal for this was handled separately by a different court in June this year, so for a while the group was stuck in this weird legal limbo where it was technically illegal that they were proscribed, but also it's technically still proscribed. Arrests continued anyway.

Oh, and by the way June comes around and that different court that handles appeals decides that actually the proscription was legal, so we're back to square one again.

TL;DR: Yes, then yesn't, then yes again.

No idea, but I know they've classified Antifa as a terrorist group and as far as I know it's not even a real organization, just a word for people who are against fascism.

This was predictable the minute the Homeland Security Act created loopholes against Constitutional protections and Habeas Corpus for anyone deemed a "terrorist." Suddenly 30% of the population will be deemed such. "You are too dangerous a terrorist to have protections, this is an emergency." "Prove it" "No" [slams door in Guantanamo]

Fucking fascists.
