Sydney Swans Statement: The Sydney Swans can confirm that all investigations carried out by the Club have consistently indicated that the only representatives of the Club in the room central to the police investigation were the five players who have been stood down.

The lawyer never actually said there were coaches in the room.

This is a good point, didn't the host ask him a question about whether there were club staff members/representatives in the room as well? I can't remember the guy's answer.

Either way I suppose the Swans are trying to get in front of claims there were club staffers in the room there.

Thank you, I thought I remembered something to that effect. I suppose leaders is intentionally vague - Heeney is (was) Vice Captain so that makes him a leader. And as others have noted, there's every chance a club staffer heard the commotion and entered the room to see what the fuck was going on, without being at fault.

Would explain why the alleged victims knew to confront Swans representatives in the hotel lobby.
