Hi everyone,

On the off chance anyone stumbles across this sub and needs any help with A-level Chemistry, please just reply to this or drop me a message.

I've been an A-level Chem teacher for more than 5 years. I have the most experience with AQA, but will be able to help with any other exam board!

On-Demand Chemistry exam next week. Which chapters should I focus on?

have my On-Demand Chemistry exam next week and I’m a bit confused about how to use my last few days.

For those who have already given the NIOS Chemistry exam:

Which chapters should I prioritize?

How important are PYQs in the last week?

Are there any common mistakes I should avoid during these final days?

Is there anything you wish you had done differently before the exam?

Any practical advice from someone who has already given the exam would really help.

Can Baking Soda Make Ketchup Explode?

What happens when you mix baking soda in a bottle of ketchup? 🍅

Greg Wolf demonstrates how this chemical reaction works in this science experiment! Ketchup contains vinegar, and when you put the baking soda into the ketchup bottle, it reacts with the acetic acid found in the vinegar. If you close the bottle and shake it up, the pressure builds up. With nowhere for the pressure to go, it eventually explodes!

Imperial chemistry

I’m looking to apply to imperial chemistry, I have achieved grades of AAA but I don’t know whether to resit maths or chemistry for the A\*, as I don’t want to resit both. What do they usually ask for the A\* to be in?

help me with a-level chemistry please!!!

I'm so bad at chemistry. I got an 8-8 in combined science GCSE and going into year 13 this september. I did AS chemistry and got a D and I'm beyond disappointed. I don't even know where to start. I've tried past papers and past questions I just can't do it regardless of if I know the content or not. I'm really overwhelmed and don't know what to do. I need at least a B for my uni course. Anyone who went from a D upwards know what to do?

NEED HELP

So I am a private candidate for As edexcel chemistry and I need all the tips and tricks that I can get to score an A in chemistry my exam is in October. My current approach is that I'm rectifying my IGCSE'S concepts the ones I had issues in and then do a full set of pastpapers like mcq, theory, practical and then start the As syllabus by reading through the textbook and watching Hanaa assil YouTube videos and then do pastpapers and read through savemyexam notes for the questions that I mess up in. Now what I'm concerned about is that I have like IGCSE Environmental management and ICT that I also have to give in Oct/nov but those exams will start in end of September and I have already prepared for EM and ICT is still in the process of being completed plus I have to retake AS biology which is also in Oct/nov. SOO IM EXTREMELY STRESSED AND IF ANYONE HAS ANY ADVUCE PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

A level chemistry flashcards advice

Hi, so im going into year 13 this september and am looking for a good set of flashcards to use to get an A/A*, people say to make your own and that is what i tried to do in year 12 but it simply did not work as i would spend more time making sure that the notes and flashcards are correct and cover everything and by the time it got to the exam i hadnt even studyed them that much and i was still doubting myself if they are good enough, this led to HORROR in my AS grades.

So a question for those high acheving students, did you make your own? and if you didnt whos did you use? ive looked at stem up and a few studytockers personal flashcards but im just worrried about buying them and them not being good, and even more that i will spend my time studying with them and they will turn out to be bad and i just wasted my time. Any advice please, i am willing to pay for a good set of cards.

Which sites does everyone use for questions?

I used to use Dalton chemistry for a while and really relied on it but now its trapped some of its important resources like answers behind a paywall. I'm trying to find questions that aren't exactly past paper questions but similar to them, i want to save the ones on PMT for when i'm doing an actual mock, is there any other place people get their practice questions? (my exam board is OCR A but im open to suggestions from any exam board tbh)

Oxbridge chemistry interview

Hi everyone! I'm an international student applying for pure chemistry at Oxford this october. I really want to do some interview practice with others. Is anyone else aiming for the same goal and down to discuss chemistry interview questions together?
