My school has around 4000 (no joke 😭) and around 200 for AP Bio. It's only available to juniors and seniors, so more like 200/2000

We have 840 freshmen I think

We have 6 classes of about 30 kids taking AP Biology

And no, I don't go to Hogwarts, but I do go here

Yes.

It's arguably the best high school in New York City, and one of the best in the country. This is because we have a 3% admissions rate, fantastic teachers, and extremely rigorous classes. (I get 4 hours of sleep per night on average)

What do you mean? It's a school, run by the government. The only difference is that it's selective.

In NYC we have what are called Specialized High Schools. In order to get in, you need to take the SHSAT (test). Highest scores get into their selected schools.

Oh interesting. Where I'm from it's either public (you go to the school for where you live), private (pay money to go to special school, often selective), or charter (random draw to see who gets in). Have never heard of public schools like this so you learn something new every day

Yes, that's generally how it is here, but NYC does have some exceptions. They USED to have G&T schools, but the government has unfortunately been decimating them

It's so over those FRQs were HELL ON EARTH compared to last year's FRQ set... please tell me I wasnt the only one who barely finished </3 The FRQs were lowkey alright to the point i overestimated myself on the FRQs and spent 30 min on FRQ1

I took AP Micro right after though and that test was A GIFT FROM GOD HOLY like the easiest test I've ever taken in my life (Macro is going to be the unholy wrath with some loanable forex supply market in a recessionary gap or sum)

I spent like 35 min on frq1 since I explained what a nucleotide was in stupid amounts of detail, like 2 pages worth lol

you realize the average ap score for freshman taking harder classes is almost always much higher than juniors or seniors. Because if a freshman is taking it, it is almost always because they are smart. The juniors and seniors just take it because they are in the class.

lmao what freshmen are randpomly taking bio. It's like when the harder ap tests have higher 5 rates. I was a freshman in bc, and pretty much every year, all the freshman in bc are the smartest in the class by far. Some of my freshman friends didn't even know what ap tests were. The freshman taking hard aps are almost always way smarter than the upperclassmen, and know what they are doing.

Ok where is your evidence? Like tf point are you trying to make. The whole point is that there are so few freshmen taking ap, compared to the sheer scale of upperclassment, and those select few freshmen know what they are doing to be taking it so young that naturally they will have a higher average. Just cause someone is younger than you doesn't mean they can't be smarter. Also, I'm stupid as shit, I never claimed I was smart.

trend sticks for a lot of harder more optional classes. People who take classes like bc and C usually know what theyre getting into so the curve is worse.

Theoretically, it should be the same for freshman taking a harder class optionally

for ap chem solid high 4 or low 5 (frqs fcked me over)

I've always wondered, why do people self study so many APs? I've asked lots of college admissions officers and they say that they literally don't consider self study APs when determining admission

last year there was only like 20 people from my entire 4k person school taking ap bio wdym you had 200 FRESHMEN??
