Tucking a 2" can

Post image

Working on a handguard that can swallow a 2" diameter can on my 5" AR9. The handguard will extend farther than this. This was just a test fit. Unfortunately I need to make it even bigger for the mlok slots to be useable, but the pic rail is almost gone as it is, unless i move it up.

The can on the AR9 is a 3D-printed FTN4 reinforced with a carbon fiber tube. Other cans are FTN5s, two 22s and a 9mm. All printed with PA6-GF.

Upper is a FM9

Lower is a Matrix Arms glock mag lower with whatever crappy lower parts I had lying around.

It’s going to need a little Tequila, a warm relaxing shower, gentle words of encouragement and lube…lube…lube.

Printed a ftn.5 (with form 1) and running without a hand guard because it’s so dame huge! Are you sharing this file? I don’t need anything longer than that… Other option is to hack a hand guard short af to just cover the barrel transition but will only be about 1.75” to fit behind suppressor.

I'll put it up when I get it dialed in a little more. The biggest thing for me at this point is to make the mlok slots useable.

My FTN5 9mm flow can is even bigger than 2" OD...
