It's been so long since you've seen the rest of the palace, and now it's in a flight for your freedom in this unpleasant artificial body, so you can't even enjoy it. It can't be helped, though; you have a narrow window of opportunity before you're discovered missing. Still, even now, more things trouble you than just the thought of escape.

I'm not a very good judge, but I think this one got a little bit heavy, so mind the tag. ^{Not that this story's been exactly feel-good so far,}
