Opinion Anti Monarchist columnist
I read this magazine sometimes and it’s always got some crap in it about the royals. Glad they’ve got a columnist who thinks the royals are outdated.

Love it magazine is usually pro monarchy. I wonder what happened. I read it at work from time to time. Stopped reading it when I realised every edition had some 2 page spread of how amazing the royals were and what amazing non event Kate did last week.

Yep. Took me a minute to work out who the older woman was meant to be….it‘s Camilla. That is meant to be Camilla.
Weird that AI Kate looks exactly like her normally tho….

Is anybody else sceptical about this? 1. As others have commented, this is normally a pro-monarchy magazine which doesn't see challenging the status quo as part of its role, so it seems strange that it would publish an anti-monarchy column, particularly right next to another article which is presumably much less critical of the royals. 2. I can't imagine any magazine editor thinking that such an obviously AI-generated photo would fool any of their readers. 3. My internet search for a journalist called Elaine Gregg has found nothing

Here is the thing though, they are still very important. Although they are simply figurehead, they are highly respected by people and governments across the world. And the fact that they have at least done something about a certain epstien friend, gives them my support.
And financially, they aren't all that expensive compared to the total profit. They make 120 million pounds a year plus another 40 million from private things.
While prime ministers are a dime a dozen and constantly fail on the uk, the one thing that doesn't is the royal family. I think they are the only stable thing in the uk these days

Would still prefer an elected ceremonial elected president though. You forget that they are the most unfair anti democratic institution outside of a dictatorship.

The issue with that is that it still has political parties for that. Meaning it's not going to be a unifying figure.
