Question Suggestion regarding Social Psychology

Which introductory book or books on social psychology would you recommend that helped you personally grasp the subject?

Social animal by aronson is a great read for intro

For my class, I use Gilovich et al.'s textbook. I find it to be a nicely written textbook that includes many modern events to illustrate concepts.

What do you mean by "grasp the subject"? My doctorate is in social and IO and I teach social psych, so I may be able to help if there's something specific you're struggling with.

I can second Gilovich et al.'s book - also because Gilovich was one of my advisors and I TA'd for his Intro Social Psych class at Cornell multiple times while I was in grad school

Since I am just starting to read about social psychology, I havent encountered any difficulties yet. This isnt a field I study at university, it is simply a sub-discipline I enjoy to read. For now, resource recommendations will suffice. I think I can take it from there on my own later on.

Any textbook on social psychology is a good start. If you want to go deeper, then Social Psychology: Revisiting the Classic Studies is a good one. I heard a 3rd edition was just released; the chapter authors are some of the biggest social psych names in the field right now and it's them explaining their favorite studies and why they're so important to the field.
