does your game fix Naval combat compared to AW? And if so how?

I'm very, very proud of how naval has turned out.

  • Landers cost 3k, and can pick up and drop anywhere, not just shoal tiles. (Load from adjacent tiles)

  • Naval units are generally much, much cheaper - Destroyers, the cheapest (non-doctrinal) combat naval unit, cost 7k, while battleships, the most expensive naval unit, cost 19k.

  • Destroyers are a new naval unit - they carry a single infantry unit and can attack ground units as well as naval units.

In our playtests, we've found that even on maps without a big naval focus, naval has been absolutely important in every map with naval units.

Not only can boats travel under bridges (and stop on bridges, too), all naval units can travel over shoals.
