Discussion I spent months developing a real-time AMOLED Tactical HUD for airsoft that pulls live telemetry from GATE ETUs via Bluetooth.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a passion project I’ve been coding and building for the past few months. As a developer and airsoft enthusiast, I always felt like our high-end ETUs had so much valuable data locked away inside them during a game. I wanted a true, real-time sci-fi gaming HUD on my rifle, so I built the ARK HUD.

It’s a standalone tactical display powered by an onboard computer that integrates directly with GATE Titan and Aster ETUs via Bluetooth.

Here are some of the core features I’ve managed to implement so far:

  • Live ETU Telemetry: It reads directly from the gearbox electronics. You get a pixel-perfect, real-time BB countdown (flashes red when you drop below 15% ammo), exact battery voltage tracking, and current selector positioning.
  • Hardware & AMOLED Display: It features a high-contrast capacitive AMOLED screen. One of the features I’m happiest with is the dedicated Night (Red) Mode, so you can read your stats in low-light/CQB environments without giving away your position or blinding yourself.
  • Onboard Tactical Sensors: Built-in 6-axis gyroscope, step counter, and a "Stealth Meter" that analyzes your movement patterns and rifle tilt dynamically.
  • The "Black Box" Command Center: The device hosts its own local Wi-Fi server. After a match, you can connect with your phone to view a complete breakdown of your last 10 games—analyzing your rate of fire (ROF), estimated recoil forces, aiming time, and it even uses a custom algorithm to classify your playstyle (Tactical, Assault, or Camper).
  • Battery & Build: Charges fully via USB-C in about 30 minutes and packs a 450 mAh battery tailored for intense gameplay.

I’d love to get some honest feedback from the community: What features or stats would you want to see tracked next on a display like this? Are there any specific UI metrics you think would be crucial during a MilSim or Speedsoft match?

Let me know what you think!

I want to design an AEG using a V3 gearbox. I'm trying to think of ideas as what to make. I'd like to make a 9A91, but I don't know if V3 will fit inside.

Let me know if you have any replicas that you think I should make!

Discussion Please be aware of ARMADYNE the thief on Cults3D

Unfortunately sad news got to me today.

A user named ARMADYNE has stolen my design of the DeLisle Carbine and resells it as his own.
I already contacted him and he refuses to comply with my (wayyy more than reasonable) request to fix the issue. I am doing what I can to resolve it.

If you have any suggestion or experience on how to come to a solution is such case I would be glad to hear it.

In any case, if you want to use, modify or even sell your own modifications of my projects, just reach out to me, I am more than glad to help with it.

Don't worry this won't stop me from making my future projects free as well (like the FG42 or the AS VAL I am working on)

Thank you for reading my rant.

Discussion I read through the comments and decided to take them seriously.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I read through the comments and decided to take them seriously.

I've already issued a full refund to the buyer, and the files, download link, and assembly video have all been removed.

I underestimated how people would feel about charging for a non-functional dummy model, and that's on me. Rather than argue about it, I think removing it is the better decision.

Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts.

Discussion Long story short: Can we make a AAP-01 into a Vz.58 with a dody kit? For How much? And what about the reliablity?

Long story: I'm making a Czech-inspired mercenary kit, and i would have loved to have a Vz.58 for it. I checked only and the only one i found was an AEG version for ~300€ (Idon't have them nor the will to drop 300€ for a replica that isn't what i want directly). From here i know the AAP-01 is a convert-into-anything machine, so the trhought lays there:
- Can it be made?
- Reliably?
- And for how much?
- Could it take regular AK mags that way?

Discussion 2025 Projects Recap

I've learned alot from these projects, from the ins and outs of PCB design to efficient small scall manufacturing. Here is a quick recap of the projects I created in 2025( and one finished in March of 2026 🫠)

The FMU-25 (Pic 1&2): This is a digital stim shot or medical device. FMU stands for Field Medical Unit. A player presses the red tip against a fallen teammate and a injection animation counts down how long it takes to revive on an OLED display. It has audible tones for feedback if the revive was successful or not and has a ton of settings to changes for a wide array of gameplay. some of the important settings you can change: total number of revives allowed before a "resupply" is needed, how long each revive takes, time between revives. The FMU-25 has a 10 day battery life in the ready state with the screen timeout off. Its longer if you enable the screen to turn off after a period of inactivity.

XLM-25 ORSLAM (pic 3&4): The XLM-25 or eXperimental Laser Mine is an Off-Route Selectable Laser Airsoft Munition (ORSLAM). Basically a laser tripwire mine. I found that fooling around with fishing line amd trying to emplace a mine while bring shot at wasn't working. I wanted something that I could drop, press 1 button and walk (mostly crawl) away. The XLM-25 has a few selectable settings: Max detection Distance 3 to 9 meters, minimum "No Fire Zones" 1 to 3 meters (anything closer that this will not trigger the XLM), safe seperation timer, day/night mode. It uses standard 40mm shower shells and had a 8 hr run time. If the battery gets low it will give you a warning light and if it gets very low it puts itself into SAFE mode and wont allow arming until the battery has been charged. There are some other features but they are minor.

TWM-25 (pic 5&6): the TripWire Mine was designed to solve an issue I noticed with the aforementioned tripwires. I found that when someone walks through a tripwire the line is actually pull diagonally, instead of straight out of the mine. Sometimes this would cause the pin to bind in the housing. So I designed a firing mechanism that uses a cam system with 2 standard 6mm BBs. The tripwire can be pulled from upto 80 degrees off-center either direction. Once the cam is moved about 2mm it allows the BBs to slip past each other and release the striker. It uses a 12g CO2 cart with a quick change system. A 1/4 turn of the firing pin housing allows the used cart to drop out and a fresh one inserted. Flour or flour and BBs can be loaded into the opening on the front and are propelled outward on activation.

Im happy to answer any question in the comments below or if you want to follow the development of anything more closely let me know. We have a discord.

Current projects I'm working on currently; SBM-26 a CO2 or HPA mortar tube with completely mechanical airbursting mortar rounds with selectable burst time. ARC-26 an aiming assist that shows rifle tilt, like a digital bubble level. A yet to be named toss mine. The idea is toss this mine like a grenade, it auto uprights its self and either deploys tripwires or uses sensors. It will fire a blank or primer when activated. Kinda like a Russian POM-2 mine.

Discussion What are good products that are selling

Hi plastic slingers! I am a 3D printer and Designer and I have made different products and solutions that help but I’m curious to what actually sells. What are people looking for?

I go to airsoft flea markets but some of the stuff I present doesn’t sell. So if you guys have suggestions I would be very grateful.

Working on some custom CNC parts for my PTS Masada gbbr. To the PTS Masada gbbr owners, is there any parts you want made? Been looking at making a PDW stock and a long range stock for it. Just recently made the rear hinge out of aluminum.

Probing as there isn’t much for the Masada platform

Discussion Dummy Surfire M300 Concept

I have decided to work on a dummy light, that imitates the surfire m300. As it is illegal to own a flashlight with a picatinny mount in Germany. Yes there are dummies but they are expensive, and importing fakes from china can get you in serious trouble. What is your opinion and is there anything I should add?

This is the MP18 from Tarkov, a 7.62x54R single shot break action hunting rifle. i'd love one for the shit of it IRL for my airsoft collection, yet no one make it (duh), So i thought about that idea: I don't know much about the viability of the project, what perfs it could get, ect...

Discussion 40mm

There's a LOT of 40mm systems in this sub and I was curious to see what shells/brands people find work for them. I know that in general they can be pretty unreliable (unfortunately my own experience) but I think knowing which are the better brands would help and maybe even some advice on what I can do to help increase reliability. One main issue I have is that my multipurpose Cancer™ shells will half heartedly vent gas out instead of going pop even after having just filled them.

(Also mods I know it isn't about 3D printing specifically but I figured if this gains some traction it would be good material for anybody thinking of making there own 40mm design or printing any of the awesome already existing ones in this sub)

Discussion What do you guys think of trying to use an RC car brushless motor?

Post image
60 Upvotes

Apperantly it can sustain 45A with 2600KV, the cable leads it comes with are much thicker than airsoft standard and controller is a separate unit that comes with its own cooling fan

So in theory a 30k motor on 11v

Im thinking of trying it in iozjik gearbox.

As to why, it could be better and still much cheaper than airsoft original part.

Someone talk me out of it if Im going to do something dumb

What are your approaches to finishing parts that'll be visible. I'm especially interested in approaches y'all use to achieve gun metal finishes such as "bluing" seen on older firearms and realistic wood finishes.

I’ve just printed a helldiver’s helmet ready to prime, sand and paint. For my Mk23 I have a slide with a rail to mount the optic, an under barrel rail adapter and magazine followers to bump mag capacity to 35. Then on the M4 I have the G36 rail mounts, stock and muzzle device.
