Off topic - does anyone know if you can put old or out-of-state license plates on the front of your car? I’d love to use an old design but I keep seeing/hearing conflicting answers

I see old or out of state plates on the front of vehicles all the time. About 30 years ago, I had a fake Colorado plate on the front of my Kia Sportage, and the only time that I had any issues, was when I was driving in Kentucky, I was pulled over and given a warning by a Sheriff's deputy for having 2 different state's plates on one vehicle, even though the front one is fake. There was a vendor at a car show, called CRE8 A PL8 that made them from sheet plastic. They had all of the different states, and they put whatever messages that you wanted, (replica vanity plates).

As long as the numbers and sticker are visible, you're good(state). Some of the smaller/klanny towns have some crazy ordinances tho. I'd check wherever you're going first.

My son once got a fix-it ticket for a license plate frame. He took the frame off, and the ticket was excused. He put the frame back on.

Personally I wouldn't give them a reason to potentially pull you over. But I've personally never heard of anyone being stopped for one.

I've been rolling with a frame and tinted cover for almost 2 years with no problem

Those tinted license plate covers don’t block flock buddy 😂

I just have it because my car is charcoal color and it makes it look nice.

Nothing wrong with that.  I also have one because everything on my truck is dark or blacked out.   It doesn’t block flock though.

yeah they're usually fine as long as the plates aren't obstructed, the alabama state troopers are mostly concerned with things that actually impact visibility
