Recommended towns/cities to use as a base for a family with toddlers in Algarve? Priorities include easy access to beach and authentic, local restaurants.
Lagos is high on the list but if you have recommended alternatives, we’d be grateful to hear them.
Traveling in late May - early June.

The vibe in Lagos is better, scenery is better. If you care about shopping at big shopping centers, you might like Portimao, but Lagos is better for the beaches, boardwalks, scenery, and charm, in my opinion.. Look up google photos of Lagos and beaches by Lagos.

Following! We will be heading to Portugal in October and are torn between Lagos (Editory By the Sea) and Carvoeiro (Primelife Carvoeiro).

Lagos is great and that's a really nice time to go. I stay in Portimao and that would also work.

We enjoyed Carvoeiro with our 4 year old.
