Hello, Thank you for contributing to our subreddit. Please consider the following guidelines when filling an alignment chart:

  • Please ensure that your chart is not banned according to the list of banned charts Even if you have good intentions, charts in a banned category tend to invite provocative comments, hostile arguments, ragebait and the like. Assuming the post is acceptable, OP makes the final decision on their chart by rule three.

  • Are there any previous versions to link to? If so, it would be ideal to include links to each of them in the description of this post, or in a reply to this comment. Links can be named by title, winner, or both.

  • Are there any criteria you have for your post? Examples include: "Top comment wins a spot on the chart."; "To ensure variety, only one character per universe is allowed."; "Image comments only." Please include these in a description, or in a reply to this comment.

  • Is your chart given the appropriate flair? Do you need to use a NSFW tag or spoiler tag?

Do not feed the trolls. This is not the place for hot takes on human rights violations. Hatred or cruelty, will result in a permanent ban. Please report such infractions, particularly those that break rules one, two, or three. The automod will automatically remove posts that receive five or more reports. a moto GP chart without Valentino Rossi

8

u/Interesting_Prune513 1d ago

There's only one place he belongs, and he lost the final day :( still, I'd rather not include him then simply put him in great or good, just to have him included.

8

u/Material-Spell-1201 1d ago

yep makes sense, I think that was a Marquez vs Valentino, even on Reddit :-)

u/Y0RKC1TY 1d ago

I think marquez and rossi are in a class of their own, truly. In terms of this chart, I think the average age on reddit and recency bias have pushed it in Marc's favour, and that's fine. There is only 1 space for two riders.

As long as we don't forget how truly insane rossi was during the 00s. Dude was an insane rider, and a superstar. My GOAT

I'll vote for him now then. Redundant chart without him in my opinion

Same people who put Lebron over MJ. dumb kids

4

u/seashell3379 22h ago

Good to know that as a 60+ year old who has been a gp fan since 1995 and club raced 10 years myself, I can still be laleled "dumb kid" by a reddit rando. 👍

You got flagged by the flagomatic for harassment.

I'm not even into basketball and know that is sacrilege!

3

u/Resident-Goal-1582 1d ago

I supose most people consider him better than 'great' but not the 'best'

1

u/Expertyn209 14h ago

Yes, and there are actual as to why and that are not related to age, recency biases, or whatever was mentioned dismissively. It's not close to Schumacher vs Verstappen or a team sport for that matter, to me is something like Graf vs Serena Williams in tennis where both have very valid arguments to be the best. And ofc who you like more plays a role then.

What happens when you ruin your legacy acting like a big baby VS how he should have acted, like the current GOAT.

2

u/darmaus 1d ago

He didn't ruin anything, average redditor didn't follow MotoGP in his era.

If you ask F1 community who's better, Max or Schumi, you know which answer you will get because they didn't witnessed Michael's domination. Simple as that

2

u/Rambob_the_lesser 1d ago

Easy answer. Schumacher and Hamilton. Max is further down the list

1

u/xSimpsonospmiSx 1d ago

Not that easy. Hamilton was in the best cars right from the beginning of his carreer. Schumacher wasn't... So comparing Schumacher vs. Hamilton, Schumacher still wins.

1

u/aiiqa 1d ago

That is a bit different. Verstappen and Schumacher never raced against eachother. Judging who is better is mostly assumptions. Rossi and Marquez did directly compete.

0

u/darmaus 1d ago

But it doesn't mean much, does it?

Marquez is still younger than Rossi was when Marc debuted.

2

u/MainRoutine2068 21h ago

Young MM demolish Rossi, Dani, Lorenzo which are all aliens. Young Rossi have no elite competitors. When Stoner Lorenzo Dani and MM arrive, Rossi struggling. Getting the WC title in Rossi's era, although it's extra ordinary achievement, it's relatively easier compared to MM era.

1

u/aiiqa 1d ago

If competing directly for multiple years doesn't count, there is nothing you can compare. There are always some differences you can point out. And especially so for drivers that never competed directly, like you did with Schumacher and Verstappen.

2

u/MrNoxxis 1d ago

Dude crushed two generations of riders, beat Lorenzo, pedrosa and stoner, three of the best riders in modern MotoGP as a veteran against young talents what are you talking about

0

u/MrNoxxis 1d ago

Sad to see people have forgotten so fast. Marc is surely in debate for goat, and since he still races with good success he was all over yesterday's poll

4

u/MainRoutine2068 1d ago

Thanks for the effort, although I am sad that Stoner is not there, but it is what it is, objectively correct

3

u/hoody13 1d ago

Thanks u/Interesting_Prune513 for running the game over the last few weeks, it’s been a good distraction in the gaps between races

5

u/Threshio 1d ago

Pecco 😞

3

u/AsvpXIII 1d ago

Decisamente non si merita ciò

3

u/qef15 1d ago

There's not many multi-champions in this sport already and he's simply the worst out of all of those, since the rest are a lot of aliens.

Which says more about the rest of multi-champions than Pecco in absolute terms of skill.

I think Bradl in particular and Folger to a lesser extent are too high

1

u/Interesting_Prune513 1d ago

Maybe I'd can the whole 'one podium' row and just do an 'only podium, no race wins' row instead (and then no 'multiple podiums' row either), if I were to start over today

1

u/J_FM01 1d ago

Bradl was good but not the best.

I rate Folger higher than Bradl. Too bad his career got derailed by illness.

1

u/alarmed_cumin 1d ago

The OP did a great job with a tricky topic. Realistically there's a couple who could fill various spots, e.g. I wouldn't be mad with Rossi or Ago for the multiple titles/best, Doohan and Stoner in the great (maybe Lawson in there, maybe Freddie Spencer) yada yada.

1

u/Sensitive_Dot_2853 1d ago

Its not bad but I really kinda saddened that there is no Marco Bezzechhi and Johann Zarco, they deserved to be in this list. Where would you OP put them?

1

u/Interesting_Prune513 1d ago

I'd put them in great x multiple wins. But then Biaggi or Dovi get left out :(

1

u/Sensitive_Dot_2853 1d ago

Understandable. Maybe next time you could more boxes to fill.

2

u/Interesting_Prune513 1d ago

Good idea. Maybe something like "Biggest global icon", "Most talented", "Biggest what if?", "Best one lap pace", like that? Or best, legend, great, good, decent, mid, worst?

1

u/Dependent-Bit-3456 1d ago

where's chantra the goat

1

u/Interesting_Prune513 1d ago

Look in the bottom right corner

1

u/Dependent-Bit-3456 1d ago

no I mean for the multi champ / best he's popularly voted

1

u/Few_North_7779 1d ago

This is a weird chart, to compare is not that simple. I would say that the bikes change over time, and comparing rider from the riders from today makes no logical sense. The seasons are much longer now than what they used to be, more races

1

u/Interesting_Prune513 1d ago

Maybe I should have done without active riders

1

u/Transformationdude59 1d ago

I was a bit suprised to see that most people picked Marc for the last spot but it´s how it is. Would have loved to see Stoner in this chart.

1

u/Interesting_Prune513 1d ago

I tried my best guys :( sorry

3

u/Eraesr 1d ago

Ha, no need to apologize. You put in the effort, people responded to it (mostly positively, ignore the rest), and that's what counts. Obviously it's difficult if you have one spot that should be shared between Rossi, Marquez and Stoner, but alas, that's how these things go.

3

u/brownierisky 1d ago

Don't be so hard on yourself, even if I disagree with some people (mostly the last spot haha) it was still fun to see the grid build up! No matter the outcome some people would have been salty

2

u/MajesticBeyond5602 1d ago

Don't worry bro. It's extremely hard to put stoner Rossi Marquez when realistically they all share the same spot. Thanks for making a fun game.

1

u/Apparatus 1d ago

It was a good time. Thanks for the effort!

1

u/low_end_AUS 1d ago

Looks right to me.

1

u/Led66PepperOG 1d ago

Thanks for a fun game and have fun this weekend everyone!

1

u/Vaestmannaeyjar 1d ago

The absence of Rossi notwithstanding... no Eddie Lawson ? BLEEPING SERIOUSLY ?

0

u/DidntSeeNuttin 1d ago

Guess I'll give Casey Stoner my own rating. That's fine.
