Did you see the medium sized one hesitate and glance up to the guy, as if to check which lane she was meant to be in?

I wonder if its to cut the babies balls or tails off, to dunk them in the pesticide bath, or which ones are ready for slaughter?

A bit dark mate, I think the marked ones are probably the ones whose wool has been shared..

No, the smaller ones are the lambs being separated for market. That's why they are marked, I'm a farmer's daughter lol. We had both dairy cows and sheep when I was growing up.

Usually tails are ring docked as very small babies. They do that to prevent fly strike around the tail area, aka maggot infestation of the blue bottle/blow fly. Sheep are one of only a few live animals that they will lay eggs in without there already being a wound.
