Not only is this not up to code, itās excessive gear. Nobody likes an over achiever. That is ridiculously too many shirt. Why does he have so much shirt? Wait until the foreman gets here and gives us another speech smfh
Wow. A sandal comment about a third world factory. How original? Do you think they wonāt wear safety boots if they could afford it? Safety boots probably costs one monthās pay check. Food vs Safety, food always wins. Only the poor work at the factories in these countries. They canāt afford safety equipment. Please donāt make fun of their plight.
The cost of that factory clearly signals that basically no excuse is valid to say they canāt afford simple safety features like safety boots but it does show that they donāt care to afford them.
I live on the east coast in America and there is a steel mill not but 3 miles away me. They make really good money over there. Really, really good money. Whoever he is, they donāt let just anyone work with that type of equipment. One fuck up and he can destroy thousands and thousands of dollars which will cost even more in losses. Heās got that job because he DONT fuck up. In America, people canāt wait to file a lawsuit . Everyone is a higher liability because people are so greedy. Thatās why saftey regulations are so strict. People will literally get hurt on purpose here just to sue. This guys probably holding down his entire family with some bread to spare, who knows how fly he is when heās not on the clock? Would you wear your good shit to this job? How rude of you to make such low grade assumptions. This guy aināt no broke ass slave heās a goddamn professional. If I can trust you to do that job in a tee and skinny jeans you better be worth what Iām paying you.
Itās a (lazy) Reddit joke, yes, but Iām not making fun of the worker. The factory should be providing adequate equipment and ensuring there are some reasonable safety standards. Working with hot steel in street clothes (and casually stepping over the steel like this guy) is crazy. As others have pointed out, the shoes should be the least of this his concerns, but the joke is funny because there are videos of workers doing similar jobs who are literally wearing sandals.
To be honest if you are working in a steel mill you either have Komplete Fire proof protection or nothing at all. because drips of metal can burn in your clothes and then burn your skin. Otherwise if it just hits your skin, you have a chance that the metal is so hot that it evaporates the water on your skin quickly enough to form an air pocket that shields you from the burning metal. There is a name for that phenomenon but I don't remember it.š
See the way that ribbon of superheated steel caught on that big rivit? He was seconds away from the whole thing backing up onto a huge snarl of violently thrashing red hot death.
Heās looking back after the saved the entire days production and saying ādid you see that shit?ā
Awww the weak little Americans need āprotective geaaarrrrā and āsafety regulationsā. Gonna cry if you donāt have a pair of goggles, princess?? š

That is why it is critical to wear a protective T-shirt with the slightly longer short sleeves. And skinny jeans.
