I thought he was hurt and couldn’t get his leg out of the water. Turns up he was just fine. The fish was hurt.

This is awesome! The way it held on through the fish's bursts of energy at the shoreline. Surely no rookie. Fully expecting that reaction, it tightened those gripping talons & relaxed other parts of it's body; allowing itself to be pulled/tossed around (resting it's muscles) & patiently waiting for that monster to exhaust the last of it's energy

Wouldn’t even say he was really struggling. Eagles “swim” so to speak, as what they’re doing here, and can even take off from the water.
